ginz - i'm curious, do you actually not like it or are you just chronically butthurt that i always slam all the shite bands you like?
tikk - yeah, wasn't my idea to have him guest. he was good back in the day but he's pretty rusty now

I just don't like it. And I would guess that 9/10 people here that say they like it are just being polite. If you posted the exact same songs and said, "here is some new music a local band in my community is making" everyone would slam it.
Top marks for being creative though. I guess it's better than sitting around and watching TV all day.
And I don't take it personally when people don't like the same music I do. People like what they like.

And if its any consolation, I think you're the best part of that band. Your voice is much better than that other guy's voice. I don't know who does the writing but if it's you, you should drop everyone else in the band and just play acoustically and sing your own stuff.

whoa that doesn't even sound like jeff
srsly, homeboy used to be able to WAIL, it was awesome. my friends and i used to agree that we don't really find him attractive usually, but when he was singing, omg hawt. this is kind of lackluster though :\
that said, i've always really liked this song so i'm glad you gave it another go.

that's fair, then. thanks for being honest, I really appreciate it (seriously).

It definitely is, and thank you again. Currently, all the music we perform was written by the other guy, Patrick, although some relics from when we were a full four-piece band still linger here and there. I have big plans to write and record my own material, but unfortunately, until I finish my degree there literally isn't enough time to even start (full time undergrad and full time employment). If you want a tiny taste though, look up "Scuff" on Facebook, I've got a few songs up that are all me.

i hate it when one dude writes all the parts. i would never wanna be in a band like that

i don't think i could either, i knew a band that was like that, and while it was pretty successful, ultimately it drove the non-mastermind members screaming into the night
no, i write all my own parts, but only within the framework and chord structure of his songs, if that makes sense
for example, he doesn't say "here's what i want you to play on the bass," he just trusts me to do whatever i think should be done with the bass for the song in question

oh ok i thought that's what you were saying when you said he wrote all the music. like, "play this. and play it like this. bitch"

bump because i'm a shameless prick
search for Scuff on facebook, i put up 3 tunes recently in addition to the 4 i already had up
they're not "new" but the recordings are relatively recent (all instruments by me myself and i)
anyway the point is: this is the kind of thing i do when i'm on my own, as opposed to the folksy stuff i do with that other guy

"Orchid" totally made me think of the Doobie Brothers right off the bat, then it went quite a bit harder, heh. It'd be interesting with lyrics
the fake quadraphonic mix of "can of worms" irritated me for some reason
"leap look" has potential
"picture of you" made my GF bust a gut laughing. not my cup of tea. kinda sounded the bare naked ladies karaoke cover
"ignus fatus" sounded like the closing music to a movie

not entirely sure what you mean by "fake quadraphonic" but i layered 3 tracks of the main guitar to make it sound extra meaty
picture of you actually is a cover, it was originally written/recorded by my stepcousins' band as a sort of beatles-esque tune
anyway thanks for listening tikk

fake quadraphonic = guitar coming out of right, different guitar coming out of left, different from both, etc etc
