I figued Shadowbane would get dumped first, but really they at least have somewhat of a niche product.
Horizoins was just.. bad.

Yeah neither game did it for me at all. The database and lag bugs in horizons were horrible. Shadowbane was totally boring for me, I just didn't get it at all.
Maybe they will recover, who knows. I seriously doubt they'll be able to stand up to competition from EQ2 or WoW though.

I was really looking forward to Horizons for a long time, but lost interest while waiting for them make it worth playing.
I was looking forward to trying SB for a long time as well, but was completely turned off by what I read on message boards and heard from friends who had tried it.

It's really too bad...Horizons had some good ideas but couldn't follow thru.

Firing David Allen, the designer and architect behind the game, and going with a 'copy as much of EQ as we can' setup probably didn't help them.
Although given the fact Allen proved he's insane and unbalanced also might have hurt them long term..

I was referring to way you needed to repair the world and free the Satyrs, etc making them a playable race.
Also, the tradeskill system was really nice IMO and the way they set it up so (dangit forgot the name) bad guys could fight back and retake lands and invade cities sounded really fun.
