I heard that on the radio yesterday or the day before as well. I don't know much beyond the story but I agree that he is a rare apple today and again just from the story, exemplifies what a real Christian would / should be / act like.

GUYS i wasn't trying to turn this into a mindia flamefest! i just thought the story was kind of heartwarming and would maybe make everyone want to be extra nicer to the people they encounter after hearing it. made me want to give big tips to servers and give hobos all my spare change.

I know Mindia's not perfect but you don't have to be so hateful towards him leah. I mean, starting a flame thread about him...that's pretty low.

That was a nice article Leah. I'm not very religious but I try to be nice to people too like that. For example one time I was at the movies and this young kid about 13 or so was at the concession stand in front of me. He was flustered because he was asking the girl at the counter what he could get for $2. He was kind of dirty and looked hungry...and I could tell by his clothes that he didn't come from a wealthy family and this movie trip was probably a treat for him. So I told him something like "Hey man don't worry about it, let me buy you a pizza. I remember being your age and only having allowance" or something like that...and proceeded to buy him the pizza+drink meal. He was so gracious and wanted to give me what money he had but I said not to worry about it and to enjoy the movie.

It might have been wasted energy on my part but I like to think someday he'll remember that grownups are not all bitchy and angry and that deep down people are genuinely good.
