The article implies, folks that commit these crimes shouldn't be considered human, hmm that seems all sorts of wrong to me.

The fix isn't just physical but mental with people like this (IMO). Doing anything physical to them won't stop the mind, even if the mind has less testosterone to deal with, it isn't just sex, but power and control. How would this help the power and control aspects?

Sometimes I feel that folks whom agree with this type practice are the ones whom refuse to move forward and seemingly want some aspects of our society to stay in the "dark ages".

I kind of refrained from commenting in this thread but I'm in the same opinion as Clakar here. I'm not exactly gonna get out there and fight the good fight for a bunch of pedo's but human rights are designed to protect everyone, even if they are shit. I don't think any person should have the right to strip another person of human rights, especially if there's a chance they could be wrong.

Not only is there the chance of convicting and castrating an innocent man, which should give everyone pause to think, but last I read, there was no evidence at all that it did any good at all at stopping the behavior. Yeah, they can no longer reproduce, but it didn't stop them from preying on children or any such thing. So yeah, I can't say I agree with the plan, as viscerally satisfying as it might appear on the surface.

i would hope this would apply to multiple offenders just in case someone was falsely accused

castrating removes much more than just your ability to reproduce

you no longer produce nearly as much testosterone which generally leads to less aggressive behaviour
