I don't do much online gaming because I have such a short attention span.

Dont do online so I dont have a name.

But I've really enjoyed these:
-Bioshock
-Resident Evil 5
-Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion (UI is clunky at first, but once I got the hang of it I was hooked...)

These were solid too:
-Blue Dragon (very solid but unoriginal/bread and butter FF-style RPG game. Great if youre into them).

Was kind of bored with:
Left 4 Dead - it got old real quick.
Dead Rising (Fun for the first hour, then got old).

Playing Blue Dragon right now. Unoriginal maybe but well done through and through. There's like 100hrs of playtime in it too.

Lost Odyssey is pretty decent too. The story is interesting and it plays like FF7 did.

I really liked FF7 but I don't really get the crazy fanaticism for it

it was awesome, but it wasn't as good as some of the Dragon Quest (dragon warrior) games

the fanaticism is just a result of the timing. first big million-dollar game, first big 3d roamer besides maybe Quest 64, etc. etc. and aeris dying of course broke the hearts of many sad, lonely, single men. we all know everything about it now tho so it's hard to imagine how badass it was when it came out

definitely deserves all the praise in every way imo. and i used to think FF6 and stuff were better. lol. not even close

See I dunno. I agree and disagree at the same time. I suppose at one point in time I used to judge a game solely on it's gameplay, and in that case FF6 kicks FF7's ass. It was harder, has a better fight system, magic system (Espers > Materia imo), sidequests, etc etc. FF7 lacks multiple group interaction, extensive optional levels and the only thing they gave to the long time FF fans was the Weapon battle. The rest of the game was a breeze for us. I guess games are more like movies now though where you have to factor in story, character development, cultural impact etc etc. To me that stuff is what makes FF7 better.

FF7 is the last FF game i ever played because they got too confusing after that. too many buttons :( but FF6 will always and forever be my favorite FF game, if not favorite SNES game (chrono trigger takes the top spot alternately; just depends on how i'm feeling, hehe. FF4 is in there, too!)

i thought the materia system was stupidly confusing, though. espers were way easier to figure out, imo. i guess i represent the section of players who like story and don't like to work too hard to play a game--all you gamer guys like a gameplay challenge; i just want medium-difficulty and decent characters/story. games are too complicated these days :(

one man's treasure is another man's trash. once the novelty of FMV wore off all you had was rough polygon "3D" graphics, boring characters, a one-dimensional villain, a stillborn plot, and crappy dialog

i know this is like arguing abortion or religion or [insert some other topic where no one's perspective ever changes] but i'm sorry you think badgame is good :dunno:
