CoD - Black Ops

I gave up on the CoD series a long time ago but this one is fresh. Full stereoscopic 3d! The zombie mini game is the shit! The campaign is a blast. Action packed and an interesting storyline. I ditched the stale Halo: Reach I just bought and traded it in on this game.

Aside from the better looking maps, multiplayer on MW2 is vastly superior to Black Ops.

I haven't played campaign or anything yet though.

Guys. I have some sad news to deliver today.

I am officially an FPS player on PS3 and enjoying it.

I never imagined I would see the day.

I am also getting pretty damned good at it. My overall K:D is bouncing around the 1.0 range but, that is largely due to my sucking with the controls in the beginning.

I'm typically rocking a 3-4:1 average, lately. (Depending on the sort of team I am facing...I don't seem to do AS well against campers whose vaginas prevent them from moving 10 yds at any given point in time.)

My PSN is HarrisonOwns and I am playing quite a bit when I am not working since exercising is downright painful this time of year. :hiphop:

To clarify also, I don't think the controller will ever be as good as the mouse/keyboard medium.

It's definitely subpar still.

I am contemplating getting this, because I hear great things about it:

Camping is awesome sometimes though to hear people whine about it as you beat them down 7500-4500.

Nothing as great as the claymore kill on the final killcam

that's hella gay but

it would make FPS games pretty much $

much better than a keyboard, anyway, those things are a joke

Just man up and get used to the controller. There's no way it can ever be as accurate as the mouse/key combo but it works and after a while it's second nature.

I'm starting to get used to it but I still suck.

try a bethesda game on a console if you played them all on computer. their simplicity makes a lot more sense on a controller

there are shittons of games at this point that i prefer on a controller on a huge TV. aside from the little two week stint on p99, i don't even turn my computer on anymore except to manage iTouch

I played FA3 and New Vegas on console. Fallout 3 I used VATS a lot as a crutch but VATS was scaled down in New Vegas so I stopped using it.

Yeah, a lot of games are a lot better on console but that is more a fault of the developer than the platform.

Bethesda games in general for example. They just did really poor interface ports over to PC. Fail for such a huge dev too.

You should play Fallout 3 on PS3. They shit the bed on that one.

it's just... all you do in morrowind is walk around, look around, use object, attack. i don't need a keyboard and a mouse and a back-breaking computer chair to do four things for 200 hours

stuff like Limbo that requires a lot of sensitivity, or especially games like Katamari or Geometry Wars would actually be shitty if not impossible to play well without a controller

everything has its place.... i think we all know the mouse is a shooter's best friend, and that we'd never willingly play an RTS on a controller. and most people probably aren't trying to play Everquest on their iPads. but things like platformers and arcade games? consoles are much more comfortable

yeah but you'd need two. games are motion sensitive nowadays too.... the joystick is much better than four keyboard keys

Touch screen. Geometry wars on the ds is miles better than any other console

Then you obviously haven't played it on a huge screen and surround sound. If you get in the "zone" with that game, it's quite a sensory experience that I don't think could be captured on the DS.

geometry wars on DS is different than retro evolved anyway. a lot less going on and there are level designs and other weird shit i'm seeing via screenshots. but it looks like GW retro graphics, not even as tight as evolved

tossica's right, evolved2 on a huge TV with the sound up is really something else when your score is a million plus. it's like a bullet hell game but with enemies instead of bullets

but i would imagine on the DS they could put some interesting gameplay mechanics in and make it fresh at least

they played fairly differently

I grew up as a huge asteroids junkie, and the DS version felt closer to that

the touch screen control felt more intuitive

I also played teh DS version before the xbox and it probably is a factor in why i prefer it
