I bought one like 4yrs ago for $69. Seemed like a good deal for a 30gb media player. I put a porn video on it to see what it looked like, put it in the desk drawer and haven't seen it since.

I hate thieves. So fucking bad. My company was on the news 2 nights ago becauase we got in a string of burgeries that night. They got me for about 5,000 in high voltage cable for the copper ><

I dont know where that came from, but it fit when I read that post. Fuck thieves

Hey, my Zune was stolen too! Like two years ago.

AND copper thieves broke into my friend's warehouse on Sunday... but they were kindly thieves and only pulled copper piping that wasn't in use in the building; they didn't touch the active water lines nor the electrical wiring at all!

If you kept the documentation on it, you can have Microsoft deactivate the serial number or something if I remember correctly.

I have the old first gen 30 GB Zune and the 32 GB Zune HD. I really like them. Doesn't surprise me that they're not making any new ones since MS is really trying to push WP7.

yeah its bullshit, on the rare occassions the worthless cops do catch them, they are out the same day and never jail or anything. Our system is so fucked. Then if we shoot them we go to jail. Stupid. Inc gun debate? Thieves and trespassers should be shot on sight!

Well... I do have a happy story about some scrappers we caught at a different building last fall.

Backstory: This building is B&T Metals, they were the guys who did the milling for the Manhattan project. They stopped operations decades ago. Since then the building had some Superfund cleanup work done & was mostly left vacant and crumbling. The roof in most of the building has collapsed onto the second floor and there are literally trees (15'+ height at this point) growing inside the building. Very few people go in there for any reason because of the structural instability & the owner has been getting bids to just demolish most of the building.

We saw their truck parked in the lot with some scrap metal in the bed.
Called the cops.
K-9 unit showed up & got on their bullhorns telling them to come out or else, "we'll send the dogs in and they will tear your ass up".
One guy came out and was arrested for criminal trespass(along with a few other charges) & the other ran further into the building.
So the cops went in and found the guy dangling from where he fell through the floor and he was hanging onto a sprinkler pipe.
Called the fire department to rescue him and during the response time, the guy lost his grip & fell ~20 feet to the concrete floor shattering one of his legs in a compound fracture.
Cops didn't arrest him immediately, instead they let the squad take him to the hospital and spend a week getting everything taken care of.
The guy got bills for all of this (including the fire department being called) and was then arrested.
I think he has been in jail since December and isn't due out for another year.

There was also another time in another part of the same building.
My friend caught them & parked his truck directly behind theirs so they couldn't leave.
My friend called the cops and the cops didn't show up (the nearest substation is literally 2 blocks away... which was bullshit).
He then got his hunting light(a 1m lumens flashlight or something) and shined it into the building telling them to come out slowly with their hands up.
They did, but slowly moved away from one another to flank him, so he ran over to his building and barricaded himself in there and went up to the roof to watch them.
They took off on foot and left their truck behind.
The cops showed up an hour later and told my friend he could remove all the scrap the scrappers had put into the bed of their truck... so he did and "accidentally" broke every window on the truck while the cops were watching and laughing at his "clumsiness". Had the cops not shown up, there would have been a thermite reaction on the hood of the car as well... oh well.

Haha now thats justice. Its to the point here with these pillhead scrappers and copper guys that people are going to start saying fuck the cops and tking matters into their own hands. Its getting a bit out of control. And of course the scrapyards dont do jackshit to help, they just buy whatever these idiots bring in. I empty many tons of scrap metal to them a month along with all the other real businesses but I guess thats not enough, theyve got to buy the stolen shit too no questions asked. Youd think they could tell what is stolen and whats not after a while. When a bunch of guys jump out of a truck with glazed over eyes and a bed full of copper and cut up railroad ties, they shouldnt be aloud to buy that stuff

It was a brand new 32gb HD. I had it less than a month. :banghead:

I won't be replacing it anytime soon. I saved up for 2 months to spooge on that for myself.

A lot of the scrap yards around here won't take any copper that has been burned, so the effect is that the scrappers have to strip wires by hand if they want to get rid of it. It is a nice proactive stance on the yard's part to prevent people from pulling wiring from houses.

The Zune was always garbage compared to the ipods.

Likewise, the Windows Phone will continue to get spanked by the iphone.

The only reason the Xbox is doing anything is Sony is more inept than MS.

You could put a couple of those bear trap jaws at the spot just in case they decide to break in again.

Fuck ipods, fuck itunes, and fuck iphones.

I despise almost everything about them.

Theres not much you can do but not be stupid and leave outide for a couple nights. Usually everything is inside, but I think they stake out nightly or something because it was outside one damn night. It doesnt really matter what you do, if someone wants in, they are going to find a way in. Short of shelling out a pile of money and hiring an armed security guard all you can do it keep shit inside, where the big alarm is. Even security cameras arent worth a fuck. All they have to do it where a hat and cover the face and it doesnt matter what you have.

Hell, at one of my cousins mines years ago, a security guard was in his truck and a couple guys came up and yanked him out of it and put him on his knees and executed his ass facedown on the strip job, then robbed the shit ouf of it. These drug heads are insane, im tellin ya. I wouldnt take a security job like that for anything. Not with any of Spazz's guns and knives and all that. Fuck - That

i like my ipod touch because it has great games. my blackberry doesn't have jack shit except tetris.... as far as gaming goes, apple's got great selection for people that pay for games. secret of mana, shining force, final fantasy, myst, worms armageddon, sonic, solomon's keep, GTA: chinatown, and space invaders infinity gene are all badass

after my ipod randomly crashed i don't even have any music on it. all i use it for is like a gameboy. and for that it's great imo. just wish the battery life wasn't a fucking joke

The Zune seemed like nice hardware but the software was garbage. It's hackable, I guess.
