Pretty amazing Christmas eve. He put so much time and thought into every last detail. Couldn't have dreamed it better if I tried. Could've given me a twist tie and I would've been happy..that he spent so much time on ring design and putting everything together blew me away.

i'm picking up the ring over lunch today--it's at the jeweler being sized! yay. i'll post pix later, although it's going to be kind of underwhelming after that giant sparkler up there! hehehe

and yeah, it definitely took him a long time, BUT, i would rather he waited until he was fully ready, you know? i might've gotten frustrated from time to time, but i love him with my whole heart and was more than willing to wait as long as necessary. it's always been a question of when, not if.



ANYWAY. lyion, you are incorrect sir, but i guess we'll have to wait five years to see for sure. my IUD has a good 4.5 years left on it, after all. haha.

I love that! I have a co-worker who just got married and her ring is really special too. They took the gold and stones from both of their grandmother's rings and got it re-designed from the remnants of them. kind of a fusion of the two families, really neat.

totally agree with you there--rushing someone into something they're reluctant to do doesn't really do either party any good. other than the bananas, what's the backstory? were you expecting it? did you cry?! jay/tikk, how did yours go?

here's the story i've been emailing people:

Here's the proposal scoop... First, I must tell you about one of our yellow lab Bo's bad habits: He really likes to pull bananas off the countertop and eat them whole. It's disgusting. So, yesterday afternoon as I'm driving home from work, Josh calls me and tells me that Bo got into the bananas again and made a HUGE mess, and that it was so bad he was going to leave it until I got home so I could see it. So of course I'm like "uh, OK. Great? Thanks?" hahaha. So, I pull into the driveway and Josh is there at the door and he says "Seriously, you gotta see this." So I'm expecting the worst, of course, and I walk in the door... and there's "MARRY ME?" spelled out in bananas on the floor!! I basically started crying and jumping up and down and hugged him so hard I knocked both of us over onto the floor. And my head's been in the clouds ever since!

yay. i didn't really have any idea necessarily--i was actually thinking he was going to do it at christmas and had spent a good 24-48 hours being sad-sacky that it didn't happen, haha. i did notice that he had been acting a little squirrelly, but i figured it was nothing and let it go, and now i can see that he had been acting squirrelly because he had a surprise up his sleeve! :D he also very sweetly called both of my parents to let them know ahead of time, which was super cute and i'm glad he did so.
