That's right, boys and girls. In Mississippi, only HALF the people think interracial marriages should be legal. Not talking about same sex marriages, here, but banned in the 60s black/white or white/asian, etc. Half.

Only 22 and 26%, respectively, are aware of science, apparently.

Oh, and only 12% and 14% pay actual attention to reality enough to know that Obama is a christian....

And these people's votes count just as much as people who aren't complete morons.

Why were we AGAINST the south seceding, again? Can someone remind me?

fun fact: the line between The North and The South, if the civil war had continued, would've stretched west and divided kansas against nebraska

My life-long detestation of the Midwest is the result of me having had the misfortune to live for 2.5 years in Wichita when I was 7 1/2. Kansas in the late 70s.... yeah.

ha, word. (though we have family in kansas, sadface. they seem OK with interracial marriage, though i'm sure they're anti-evolution and i don't know where they'd stand on the christian/muslim debate. sadder face.)

People on this very board, who have attended accredited charter schools, claim Obama is a Muslim. You don't have to go to Mississippi to find the crazies, unfortunately.

What I find interesting is that my father is as much a redneck as any of those in that video. He was born and raised in Mississippi and Florida. He's also one of the most open minded and accepting people I've ever met. They exist but are very rare in the south. The rest of my family down there with the exception of one of his brothers can go fuck themselves.
