I stockpile cheap PC games on steam. I rarely buy them new anymore. The exception being Guild Wars 2 I nabbed for 50 bucks. I probably should have waited but it's nicely prevented me from having any interest in World of Kung Fu Panda. Steam Summer Sales is a far better investment than paying a sub for any MMO.

I still haven't finished Borderlands, yet. I mostly do co-op via TF2 with a few friends nowadays.

EQ:WoW::diablo:torchlight

i.e., same basic premise (dungeon crawling, exp gaining, a handful of classes, basic questing, nearly identical UI) but way smoother and slightly cartoony

not quite as sophisticated as D2 or D3, but everything D1 wishes it was. also, coop.

Torchlight one has no online play which is just shameful. Not a bad Diablo clone though.

can't believe it took until torchlight to have your pet take all your useless crap back to town and sell it for you

Finding massive amounts of loot in a game is dumb, IMO. I never got that. You shouldn't be able to carry more than a handful of items and coin. If the item isn't an upgrade or you can't use it, it gets left.

I hate to agree with Tossica, but I prefer items being rare catches rather than "ugh I need to check this bullshit"

there's got to be a balance between "i am wading through heaps and piles of gear that i don't need and have no time to go sell" and "there are only two weapons in the game"

D3s loot pinata is fun, but way too tedious IMHO. I like getting new shinies. The problem is it needs to be fun, but not too masochistic. I loved EQs 'reward' system for camping but nowdays that'd fall in the bad category for me.

I think WOW has the best balance. Too bad the game bores me to tears now, and has completely jumped the shark.

So who is still playing Borderlands 2? I ordered a new PC on Friday (Black Friday special on a prebuilt system that I had been eyeballing) and I loved the first Borderlands...
