This is not your fathers Dream Team.
What they should do is just use a regular NBA team. Its too tough for people who don't play together to suddenly start trying to be a team.
Losing to Puerto Rico.. Oy Vey,

The original dream team meant something... those guys were so excited to be playing in the Olympics... even though they already had an amazing career... they were finally representing a common cause - the USA. Egos were buried, rivalries were ignored. They played to win.
Of course, any team that has Stockton as a backup point-guard, Ewing as a bench Center and freaking Charles Barkley as a 'reserve' small-forward is probably a 'winning' team.
This Dream Team doesn't seem confused... they just don't *care* like they used to. They now have the shame of being the first team of NBA pros to lose an olympic game. That's pathetic. They weren't even playing anyone 'tough'. It was said that Dirk would have been the best player in Athens not wearing the Stars and Stripes. Well, Germany didn't even qualify. It's the teams of scrappy, passionate players that qualified... it's now apparent that the USA needs to freaking step it up. China and Argentina are going to punish us if we keep this up.

There are too many foreign players playing on every NBA team to do that Lyion.
As for the dream team, it's true they dont care. You would think that since they are all barely all-stars or futur stars they would have something too prove but they don't.
This is going to be really sad.

I'll be stunned if they win a medal.

I only feel bad for Timmie. The rest of the team can suck an olympic nut. Larry Brown picked a stupid team... Iverson is their only outside presence. It just doesn't make sense!!!

Pistons dont have much outside shooting.

That's true... Rip and Billups are one of the weaker backcourts in the league. Still, that's better than depending on two of the greediest guards in the league in AI and Marbury. They have a great inside presence, but almost no outside threat... no outside defense. Italy showed us how bad we can lose to teams that live outside. It's going to continue.

I wish they would stop calling this a dream team. The first was a "dream" team. These players they have now are closer to dreaming about the all star team, not exactly the caliber of the original "dream" team. Good, yes, but not even close to the material that was used in the first dream team. (as you can see)
