That discovery charge was the final nail in the coffin for this case, no way the prosecution could've recovered from that.

I agree with Tossica on this. It's extremely common for women who have been raped to distance themselves from the event and even more common for women to simply not report the crime for fear of being labeled a whore, reliving the experience in a public forum, etc. It's also common for a woman to freeze up and not physically defend herself in a rape situation.

I think if she was actually after money, she would have continued with the trial - it's not like she didn't know he was a public figure.

I don't know the details in this case as I don't really give a fuck about sports, but the bottom line if there is even a hint about the consensuality of a sexual event, the guy better back the fuck off.
