Microsoft's biggest Xbox release for 2004 has been leaked onto the Internet.

Late last night, 27 days before its officially scheduled retail release, an allegedly complete version of Microsoft's upcoming first-person shooter, Halo 2, was leaked onto the Internet. The pirated release, said to be a PAL version of the game with French-language dialogue, is currently making its way around various Usenet newsgroups and peer-to-peer networks.

There has been no word on where, or how the game originally surfaced at this time. It should be noted that players who download the game illegally could face a maximum penalty of $100,000 per infringement for copyright violations.

Halo 2, which continues the adventures of Master Chief with an all-new single-player adventure, as well as Xbox Live support for Internet-based multiplayer, is scheduled to hit retail shelves on November 9. We'll have more on this story as it develops.

Hehe I saw that, no big deal though seeing as how it's coming out really soon, and 99% of the kids buying it couldn't use a p2p download to save their life. I still have no desire at all to play this after playing the craptastic first one.

I loved the original Halo, and I'm a big Bungie fan, personally. I'll be buying this.

Halo had at the time probably the best AI and physics engine of any FPS. I still play it to this day. Put it on Legendary level and dim the lights. Kick ass experience.

Stick to Duke Nukem, Chief.

Halo was good, but it got old fast. Killing the same old same old gets monotonous. I wanted more enemies.

There were no bosses, but great multiplayer game.

you're kidding me? Have you ever played a FPS on a computer by chance? Quake, Unreal, Tribes IMO pwnext Halo on every level.

Halflife 2 will bend Halo 2 over and fuck it in the ass repeatedly when it comes to physics... that game won't stand a chance.

One thing that really pissed me off about Halo was that they had maybe what 5 different enemy models? I got sooo sick of blowing up those stupid zombie/horde/swarm whateverthefuck monsters.


Halo makes people want to stab themselves with icepicks.

I liked halo single player because I got into the storyline. Nothing about it was ground breaking. But I'll play Halo2 for the same reason.

I've clocked hundreds if not thousands of hours playing FPS on computers.

I was playing FPS on computers back when squeezing 6 more K out of high memory and loading a TCP stack for DOS was the only way to get a "multiplayer" (ie "I'll put my 9600 baud modem on listen, and you call me in 5 minutes so I can frag your ass") game going. I could beat Quake on the hardest setting using only the axe and could still to this day, fuck you up 2 times using just my left hand.

The only FPS I have played in many years that offers any challenge at all is Halo on the hardest setting on the XBox. I have not played the weak ass PC port of it so I have no comparison there. Lots of people hate the controller and I did at first too having played games with keyboard and mouse for 15 years but I prefer it now for FPS. At this point in my life, hunching over a keyboard and mouse looking at a 19" monitor is a weak way to play any game. If I am playing a game these days, I want it on Xbox in HDTV with a wireless controller and the Dolby Digital assault system. If I am sitting in front of my PC's these days, I have better things to do on them than play games.

Get the keyboard/mouse adapter for the Xbox and BOOM instant gimpified FPS.

halo sucks... waht a boring game.... now if you could take the tank thru the entire game that would be the win!

anyone played tribes vengeance yet? i haven't had the time... I used to love tribes 1 and 2.... Especially once some nice mods came out.
