Anyone other than Taxx, Nameless love, and I planning on playing?

I'm playing. Along with a few RL friends.

I have no idea what its about other than what I've seen on the coh.com website.

Well, I'm in the game in beta, I think the 7th they let all the preorders in to preview the game for the last month of beta.

Pretty entertaining so far. Not sure if there will be any real endgame but they have expansions and updates already in the works that look good.

ANyone else in Beta? Wanna be my sidekick? I probably won't molest you.

City of Heros is alot of fun. I'm definatly going to leave my account open when WoW comes out.

I can't think of a single gaming concept that allows for a stronger sense of nerdery to be present in its fanbase.

Anyway, the game is really well done, I would say its the best alternative to EQ atm. Beats teh shit out of that ass monster FFXI, AO is a joke, Horizons had potential but shat all over it, etc etc etc.

The game self really is ready for release, unlike SWG was for example. There are some bugs, and balancing will continue to be done, but the game is completely playable and fun.

In addition, travel is the only real downtime you have. This is fixed at lvl 14 i you decide to grab Fly, Teleport, Super speed, or super jump (the retard's choice).


First game you can move and fight on all axis, you can have fly by fights with Mobs. The game has pissed a few people off when they first open up a flight power, see another player flying and move to say hi only to notice "oh, bad guys can fly too" and eat lightning.

Game runs very smooth. Better than EQ, especially since the DX9 patch which has caused me to refuse to even log in.

Game is soloable, unless you are retarded, so half the beta forums are crying that you can't solo.

ALl in all give it a 9 out o 10.

Yeah, the biggest arguements against the game I have seen are 'I can't be a villian and rape and pillage wah wah wah", or "no PVP, Wah wah wah why can't I pwn n00bz?", and "WAHHHHH NO CAPES"

Superficially witht eh archtypes it looks like it would be very similar to EQ, but when you play it you realize it is very different int eh way it handles the classes.

Starting to get really sick of EQ again, and need a new fix to hold me over until WoW (or something else remotely worth playing) comes out.

I've always made a habit of taking breaks from EQ once every couple of months (before I get too burned out), but they are becoming longer in duration and closer together lately.
Seems like I only ever log in when I actually feel like playing (which is less and less), or to say 'Hi' to friends (who are increasingly absent from game as well).

Is this game worth the $$$? Ginz, will you be on it?

I'm enjoying EQ, but it seems that the game is still populated by lifers, and there is no chance I'll be making EQ into a full time job, like I did before.

I'll pick it up, if its worth it.

I definitly think the game is worth it. Its no stress unlike EQ. Log on, beat some ass, log off.

I'll give it a try. Unfortunately, most people I see in EQ are still trying to 'win' making it not so much fun.
