Some really nice graphic updates and new places to explore.

Except DAOC still is EQ lite, with an Arena PVP zone, and gameplay built for 10 year olds.

It's not that bad. :P

I went back for a few weeks late last year after being gone a while. It was still ass for me. The same crap PVP, Master levels were just piss poor, and the game is incredibly generic.

It's not a bad game, it just has little depth or challenge.

Its MMO Lite.

Ok....that I can agree with. It's fun to play in small doses.

The PVP had so much potential, but they never did anything worthwhile.

My few old timer friends who were DAOC lifers were very turned off by New Frontiers, and have no desire to play catacombs.

What do you still find fun in DAOC, Martrae? PVP? PVE?

We just decided to play again this week after about a year hiatus. I didn't mind the RvR but my hub hated it, so we decided to give Gaheris a whirl this round.

So far it's fun but I've only got a couple hours of playing in.

You guys going to WOW/EQ2? Seems strange to join DAOC now with new games coming out so soon.

DAOC without RVR to me loses the only thing I liked about it, really.

EQ2 is looking too buggy. Maybe in 6 months or so.

We did WoW ST and are still hoping on OB but I'm not so sure it's got the longevity to keep me interested for even a year. I'm sure we'll give it a whirl at some point, I'm just not real big of jumping on the "It's new!" bandwagon. Horizons was the only game I got at release and you know how well that went.

DAoC has a new expansion coming, which means new places to explore and I never really got to check out Hib and Mid too much so here's my chance.

Started EQ again earlier this year but the OoW bottleneck is generating frustration so gonna take a break from it.

I'd play it yourself and test that theory. I have had zero bugs in 15 levels on a character. I've spoken to people from ebonlore who are beta testing endgame content, and they say its very good, and not buggy. There are also 3 or 4 other guilds testing most content. Its actually less buggy than WOW right now.

If you are basing your opinion on EQ2 from the Blizzard fanbois, I think you might miss out on a really good game.

Actually, I was basing it off friends/acquaintances that are in beta.

Check your PM. I'm actually loving the beta. Its really, really good.

I really enjoy Daoc myself still. You really need to be in a supportive guild though to enjoy it. EQ Lite you say? Maybe so, *shrug*. EQ was way too time consuming though and quite dangerous to my social health.

ML raids were the suck the first few months but isn't that the same on every new EQ expansion? Now that people know how the strategies work they are a lot of fun. I like ML4, 7 and 9 myself. I am working on my third character to ML9 as well.

NF is about as fun as what you put into it. I rvr about 1 night a week and go out with the mindset of having fun, not worrying about realm points. I might get 1,500 rps one night, and 12,000 the next week. Hanging out with friends is what really makes it a blast. But to each their own. Not every game caters to everyone...

The only thing I enjoy about DAoC now is going out into the level 20-24 battleground with just 2-5 people and just having fun. Nice to wander out, kill a few people, die, /release, and be standing a minute's run from the action again. I can play whatever class I want, cause I can just /level him to 20. New frontiers was the stupidest idea Mythic ever had, but that's just because I played a tank class, so I lost.
