ok been playing more.. got some rare hammer. But since this is in Alpha Test... they don't have most of the stuff in the game. their are flaming swords and such but havn't see that other than screenshots.


If this game doesn't have nifty items at least like dialbo 2 (which were lacking anyways) then not sure i like the game.

I mean if they keep in the rarity of even gettin gold pieces like it is now, thats gonna be kinda stupid.

If they wanted to make a PvP game they should have without all this PvE stuff. (been readin alot of forums about it and how its a PvP game really)

Of course i am bias because of EQ, but alittle eq farming isn't bad. That was in D2 also, farm to get good items. Now since this is Alpha i understand that there isn't much in the game.



Now as a PvE its good (minus loot). Nifty missions, need some decent strats to do them. on the Blood Fen thingy... can't beat it but i always seem to miss slowing a mob and it runs around owning my henchmen. Bonus/2ndary quests in missions and also explorable areas is cool. Areas are kinda big, but with a few more mobs it will be better (for explorable areas) there are plenty mobs in the missions. Again GOT TO IMPROVE DROPS (gold, materials, armor weapons, stuff hehe)

There are plenty of named mobs, like in D2, which is cool.

I don't know, if its more PvP based then whats the point, cause you can't even look cool hehe

i prefer if a game has ultra rare drops than drops all the time. i hate it when you can get to the highest level and have the best shit with barely any work

well i am not saying have Uber Kill you in one hit sword off of a lvl 1 creature

just sayin something like some magical sword with maybe 2 more dmg with +1 regen or something

Then you kill the dragons you can get nice stuff, or the higher up missions you get items of named

nah i think it's fine how it is. i've been playing for hours and i haven't even collected enough shit to make a new piece of armor. i like this game because of that. it makes you work for your shit

I played for like 2hours...I don't know wtf I'm doing yet really. I did that first mission thing and that's about it.

Played it last few days. It's a part time MMO. Great graphics but the cities between each "mission" are nothing more than holding pens. Long term playability of this game eludes me at this time. It's seems just to be an upgraded version of D2. Albeit the game is not totally finished so I will reserve judgement.

yea its diablo without items hehe. which makes it kinda goofy. You can only use tactics to a certain point then mobs do way too much dmg quickly. I had a group with people with flaming swords etc, and we were gettin owned by a jungle troll... tho i agree make mobs hard, your items mean jack, even your skills aren't enough to get you through much (not cause of lack of skill). You had a elementalist casting some kinda meteor storm, as a warrior you can slow if your a war/nec (which i was doing) you had a warrior with a sword (flaming) using all the dmg spells, a ranger and a healer. One of the trees kicked our asses so bad we were all kinda like WTF.

Now i understand if your a parttime player you don't want item farming time sinks. But I won't find the game fun unless you can do SOME of that (not alot but just some) I don't mind taking a while to get crafted armor, but at least make the armor decent. Only the lvl 20 armor makes a difference and a very small one at that.

My point is have the missions, have the PvP and have most of the uber items drop in the explorable areas (since there are multiple named in those areas and have dragons i believe), besides these areas are HUGE. I spent an hour running around Ettins "something" off the place after the Bloodfen mission and only explored one road of it.

i think you're just spoiled by how EQ has so much rare shit and you just want items with big fancy names even when there isn't really a point. i think judging a game on its loot content is kinda whack, but maybe that's also why i absolutely love halo, because it's nice and simple

well unless there are 50 missions or something... whats the point of the game?you can go thru the first 5 relatively fast

I played Diablo also, i like the grind to get cool lookin weapons with nifty names... i don't care if they do jack crap... but would like if they made your charcater more powerful for explorable areas.

hehe thats why i want sony to come out with a single/multiplayer version of EQ hehe

There was one quest besides the missions, maybe they will have a bunch of quests besides missionsonce teh game is released?

I personally enjoyed playing guildwars... its not a game that i would play regular like eq or wow, but its a great filler game for downtime etc, plus my kids enjoyed it as well. I will buy it when it comes out for downtime, or for kids to goof around on as well.

yea i am still debating about buyin it or not. I am gonna get Battle for Middle Earth for sure and SimCity 4 (since i love those games) other than that its tryin to figure out what is the 3rd game

i think my dumbass is gonna take the plunge and pre-order GWs.... i can only play BG2 so many times
