say you want to maintain your financial information (investments, accounts, 401k, so on) in an excel workbook.... you can password protect it through the save as option - but - if you wanted more security - what's the best way to protect your information? I'm talking freeware wise.

Place said workbook on a secureable USB Flash Drive that way when your HDD fails you don't lose it all

vi encrypt it on a Linux workstation that only allows Secure shell connections.
Then also password protect the file.
