Servers are being brought up and immediately back down. They're obviously testing code changes.

I wish we had an idea how long they would be down

This is the one thing that aggravates me about this game. The friggin down time. I have been on since 2pm, no problems, and suddenly I get botted while in battle, and I can't get back on. It pisses me off that they want all of us to sink money into a game that is only 60% ready to be sold into retail trusting that it will all work out in the wash. I for one am not sure that I want to spend the money on the game and the monthly fee and have downtime when I have the odd day that I can actually play and devote some time.

Vonkaar and Taxx are still on though. FYI.

I think they'll have it sorted out by release...if not...they fucking suck. (they being vivendi who is PUSHING this release date)

People don't realize that this many people are not going to be playing on release. Maybe in 6 months but not right away. I think Blizzard would be very happy with half that many boxes sold at release. 45 servers is insane and I don't blame them for not putting anymore up during open beta. Why spend all that money on extra servers when you're going to only use 30 on release? I'm sure they expected to get a big response but I don't think they were prepared for this big of a response. The first week will probably be hell.

HEre is a clue, get the servers you have up, running. They had to turn people away for beta Taxx. Hardly means that they wont have a big turn out for release. If they keep up with server maintenance like they have been, I woud be surprised if only 200,000 signed up. THe game is great but constant LD's and lag make it just as bad as EQ, and they promised us a game better than EQ.

i'm pretty sure they're purposefully testing how many people a single server can handle at one time so at release they'll be ready for those issues and have enough servers up to handle however many people play
