Do you mean video lag or server lag? For video lag that is obvious. For server lag, wait 2 months and then we'll know.

video lag EQ2 unless you have a great system or turn the options down. Server lag, WOW takes the cake. WoW has lag that makes SWG laugh a year ago.

You now have a 5 minute wait or so (most I've had was approx 8 minutes) if your "realm is full".

I believe this to be temporary, but since then I've experienced 0 lag.

EQ lags all the time, it's the nature of the insane graphics.

The question is, are they worth it?

I say no.

After seeing that I don't agree.

EQ2 didn't lag for me and ran quite smooth. WoW runs smooth as well of course, but isn't nearly as impressive visually.

That video has nothing to do with "if it's worth it" because it doesn't show you how EQ2 looks, or compare anything at all really.

Just a heads up, everything EQ2 vs WOW I'm going to move here.

If we're talking video lag then it's not even comparable. EQ2 has better graphics but you need a much better machine to run it.

btw, the number of people playing is irrelevent. You need to talk about the number of people per server, not the total number of people.

There was a week in beta after they patched in mid october where the lag was bad. Took them 5 or 6 days to fix it.

I had very little lag in EQ2 beta, and I played a lot more than you did.

WOW closed beta had a hell of a lot less people than EQ2 closed beta. Wow open beta had worse lag than a Bush speech.

20 minutes? I was level 12 in 2 days so no I didn't play for 20 minutes. WoW closed beta had 30,000 people Lyion so once again you don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

WOW had LESS people on their closed beta servers than EQ2. I know, I was there. You played horde, with less fucking people than were in two EQ2 zones, and you fuckin' know it. I had a 40+ WOW char, and WOW had the same lag as EQ2 in closed beta. Almost none. There were over 6k people on the EQ2 beta server I was on often. During closed beta when I was online, the WOW beta never had 3k on a single server. Never.

You played TWO days of EQ2. I played several weeks. Unlike Nagi and you, I'm not a biased fanbois, and I have no qualms admitting the problems of both games.

EQ2 has issues, but lag is rarely one of them.

Nobody I know and played with in Beta had bad lag in EQ2. If you did, I believe it was not server, but your PC, most likely, or you hit a peak period, perhaps.

I played a lot more EQ2 beta than you.

I have almost no lag in EQ2 after playing the game retail for the last 9 days.
