Personal feelings of Board Admins who surface from beneath a rock once every 6 months should have absolutely no bearing on how people on the board conduct themselves. Just because someone got Grandfathered in doesn't mean squat to me. Taxx has been a contributing member of this community (whether you see it that way or not) for years, and to ban for no reason other then a mod doesn't like him, and jumped at a chance to ban him is rediculous.

Muglack makes a good point, yet it won't be addressed by any members of the administration. With the exception of two of them they wanted Taxx banned, even though 4 of those 5 that did, never contribute to this board. There excuse is that he posts inappropriate things in the wrong forums, yet everyone else does too, they just decided they don't like him the most.

My contribution, I reopened the old NT when when Toucher's kids was closing and paid for 1 full year on that board with a promise to move to another board if people were still interested. I brought in Vonkaar not only because of his popularity, but of his level headedness, and has already had the experience of getting a board off the ground.

When this board was made, I paid for the site for one year in order to get it rolling and not ask you the contributers for any donation right off the bat.

I'm very sorry my contributions to increase my post count wasn't one of the following.

I would rather be hounded for cash then have to deal with your banning people to fulfill personal grudges just because you can. I can think of a dozen people that should of been banned along with Taxx if you're that adamant about "cracking" down on people breaking the rules. Hell go look in the WoW forums right now and you've got 3 glaring candidates (Sirens, Diekan, Naginataka).

Because of Taxx's popularity, he was pretty much given a shitload of slack. Any other normal poster might have been perma banned by now.

I like Taxx and have known him for a long time. I grouped with him often in EQ, and we were guilded together. I think he's an intelligent, fun person.

Taxx on this message board, though, is not the real Taxx and therein is the problem. He wants to be a dick and ignore the rules. He pushes the boundaries here daily, and although he is given a LOT of leeway, we still have to have accountability.

If you want him to not be given timeouts, then instead of attacking the people who are trying to make the MODERATED forums acceptable, then why not look at the person really guilty for Taxx's banning. That'd be Taxx.

I read this and thought about it. Basically what you are saying is, you can be a dick because A: you are a moderator and B: paid about $50. So I got to thinking, with increasing bandwidth costs and what not, http://www.namelesstavern.org should cost about $250-$300 a year for hosting, so if I were to contribute that, I can be as big of a dick as I want too? I mean really, any license to be an asshole over a trivial amount of money is worth it to me. Just tell me where to send the money!
