just wanna say.... IT ROCKS heh

Much better than the WPE. And with more areas... less dumbasses around to spam the public chat.

But the missions are damn fun... kinda long... but fun nonetheless. And exploable areas are much harder now (same with missions) so no more breezing thru easily for the most part.

I now see how they are doing weapons and shields etc... they are rare drops to get rarelly good weapons.. but you can upgrade and get better relatively soon after just gettin a decent weapon... ex.. i got a 9-12 dmg weapon a couple hours later 10-14. And 2 hander hammer 18-34 dmg

Its alot of fun to play with people instead of soloing (with hench or alone)

if you were gonna buy this or were on the fence.. believe me its alot better than any other online RPG there is in the sense you don't have to deal with all the stupid crap.. and is just as good in combat situations

I was getting bored with the game until I started going through the high level missions again and found out how to effectively use my ele/mo. I maxxed out to level 20 this weekend and found a ton of good gear.

It helped to find a good group. After about 8 consecutive tries in the wilds with people who did not know how to group, I finally lucked out and found a couple old eq people who knew how to follow directions and attacked the same target.

I did a little experimentation with my spells and found out how to effectivly wipe everything out solo. For instance, in the second to last mission where you have to take out the tower guards, I would make sure I was not enchanted (they cast shatter enchantment for 100 damage) and target the guard and cast in this order: meteor shower, firestorm, meteor, and fireball.

That combo can take out any number of mobs that came on us as long as I waited for the warrior to get enough aggro or if the monk kept me healed ;)

That mission brought back memories of when I first played in the plane of fear. It was a bunch of fun avoiding stuff but it was a ton more fun roasting everything to a crisp!

its not the same in the lower level missions with aggro and stuff.. They didn't change the upper level missions that i saw.

But plenty of the lower ones are DAMN hard. When you aggro stuff no matter who does it the mobs go straight for the casters even if they aren't in range.

The missions before the Seaboard...were harder than that one. I breezed thru the Loin's Arch mission with just me, and 2 other players at lvl 12. When we had lots of probs with ones before.. and these players didn't suck... they were good.

And the thing is you can't always just all gang up on one as warriors... in some of the missions its very much like Tank mezing in NToV was.

I am a warrior/elementalist, i do crazy dmg hehe. I am probably a better secondary tank, to war/mes or war/monks. But i do alot of dmg... and if i can find the Phoenix spell i can do even more hehe. I love being able to take out a group of 5 lvl 13 ice golems at lvl 10 heh without even taking melee dmg. Just Firestorm their asses to death.

I started at level 1 and went thru, alot of it my own but the last 5 missions out of the 9 (i think) i did with others. Have decent stuff. lacking on swords tho... fuckers never drop and they do they go to a caster and i get stuck with wands and staffs hehe.

Did get a few runes for a warrior and elementalist.. and some for all runes. I really think having 2-3 elementalist (primary or 2ndary) in a group is the way to go.. do massive dmg in close range and against ranged mobs just with firestorm and the small aoes.

And warrior skills sever artery and Hundred Swords.. is the best... i do in one attack (casting then melee) alot of dmg. 10 secs of 12 dmg from the firestorm.. 20 dmg including the sever artery effect (bleeding = loss of life at some rate i don't remember for 10 secs) and then the double hit is like 15 and 9 usually (hits all mobs around you).

btw Malluas Bloodthorne will get ahold of me in the game... now and after launch hehe.

you don't have to preorder or anything to get to play in the free beta preview weekends that they have once a month. hence my "fuck i missed it" post

from what i have read you do have to have it (preorder or friends pass) to play in the monthly events. It says on my card that has my beta code on it ... you get weapon, named reservation AND Excluslive preview (aka beta events) participation

who knows.. i am just going by my little beta card thingy

which i will play my ass off in. I love the game.. its really what EQ should have been (for the most part)

And they are adding Exceptional weapons (like uniques in Diablo2) not sure the power of them but i would say they won't be much more powerful and might have some nifty graphic (which i would like). This from one of the Devs. so maybe he is just playing or its a real addition who knows.

i just hope they let you have your sword and shield equiped in town.. running around with out that stuff looks really goofy, compared to what i am used to.

Man the hype to this game really went down after the first beta weekend. It just didn't live up to expectations.

it was only 20% of the game.. and 50% of the map. They added more after the first beta weekend

That doesn't matter...the game didn't really impress many people.

didn't impress me much during the WPE either.. but the more i played i got to like it better.. probably cause i won't have to log on every day for 9 hours to raid hehe.

granted if what they add isn't much more in content.. it will probably bomb after 6 months

it's free to play, do you expect something as huge and in-depth as everquest/wow ? i don't. but it's fun

its pretty damn big as of now. I didn't even go really exploring in the explorable areas and i still spent a whole day in 2 of them. Uber items no... they didn't want the EQ rush because it is a PVP based game for the most part, eventhough i will be playing for the PvE part of it.

And a shit load of people are gonna buy it cause of that free to play. Also because you don't need to spend countless hours to get good stuff like in EQ (eventho i didn't like having the BP of Eradication when it was the best BP).

I like it cause its online, not the regular multiplayer game. And the missions are cool

I will say its not everyones cup of tea. Like i said i didn't like it much after the WPE... then i thought about it and took the dive, because i am bored out of my mind and will be till i can get started on my car. SO its something to play :) that i can chat with people in groups and stick with those people like a guild

i think you're putting a little too much emphasis on "uber equipment"... i'll put millions of dollars ont he table that there are hsitloads of equipments in the game. you don't possibly think you've seen even 10% of the game after playing for a combined total of four beta preview days, do you? :p
