You can rent an xbox too. $25 bucks, beat it in 3 days, take it back, save $175.

I love my Xbox. There are a lot of good games, and if you don't have a PS2 or Gamecube it's a worthwhile investment.

I do play World of Warcraft, I'm just bored. If Nintendo DS was being sold anywhere around here I would go out and but it now.

If you're gonna buy an xbox, buy a modded one off ebay. Will save you lots of cash in the long run.

I bought one cause I was actually planning on buying a second DVD player. You can pick up a used one for about 65 bucks at EB. 65 plus 20 for remote system and PRESTO...dvd player and game system.

I understand that with a chipped XBox, you can shut it off and then access live.

the only reason i'd ever buy an xbox is to mod it and play snes games on it

buy it, but don't buy fable. the star wars: knights of the old republic games are money. black isle made the first one, so if you've ever played the baldur's gate games on computer it's a very in-depth game like the BG games are. halo 2 is also a reason in itself to buy the system, and xbox live makes halo 2 infinitely playable. i haven't bought a game i play as much as halo 2 since i bought everquest. then again, though, i vehemently hate playing games on computers.
also there are shitloads of other good games and the mod chip, so you can get nes, snes, gb, gba, playstation, 64, etc. emulators. if you mod it, the system basically pays for itself after you rent a couple games and rip them to your xbox's harddrive.
