Is it only that file that is coming up in the message when crashing? What is your friend doing when it crashes?
edit: and what is the full error please?
When explorer crashes, it can be lots of things, especially if you are talking Win95/98/ME.

windows Xp Pro SP1
ntdll.dll is the file listed in the error reporting message.
surfing the web and checking email and looking inside a folder. so far not a single user act has caused it. next time it crashes ill post the full error. I am on the monster so dont have the error file atm.

Ok, will wait for the full error.
Something you can try now though, just in case the file is corrupt:
go to START -> RUN -> and type in SFC /scannow
That will initialize the system file checker. If that dll is damaged, Windows should replace it. Try to recreate the error and see if it helped.
