Edit ability in Pit of Woe

I guess I was used to the old R&F where editing ability was disabled. I always presumed the purpose was to prevent people from editing out stupid remarks that they were attacked for later on in the thread. Not a huge deal, but it seemed like a good idea then and seems like a good idea now.

This isn't the old NT, there is really no reason to turn editing off.

Edit should be turned off in rants and flames to keep people from retroactively changing their arguments.

It's not like there's been a good rant/flame/debate on this board in the last year...
who cares if they edit their argument... it might actually provide some humor into an otherwise insipid debate.
I personally never edit my posts unless I've made some glaring typo - and normally then only if it changed the meaning of my sentence. For example leaving out a "not" so that the statement turns out to be the exact opposite of what I meant.
