Just listening to what facts Tim Kurkjan is saying about Wade Boggs boggles my mind.

Boggs, along with Tony Gwynn was the best pure hitter in the game. The guy was fun to watch and played with amazing intensity.
I remember seeing him live several times and often on TV.

Boggs was elected in his first year of eligibility. He was selected by 474 out of 516 voters. That was the third highest total votes( nolan ryan 491 and george brett 488) in history. He also got the 19th highest percentage in hall history at 91.86%.
On another note, Pete Rose got 9 write in votes.
