A Wise decision
Dear friends of Wish:
Unfortunately we have bad news.
After careful consideration of all the facts and analyzing all the
data which we have gathered from the Wish Beta 2.0 test so far, we
have decided to cancel the Wish project.
Our Beta test will end this evening at 6pm EST, and at this time our
Beta forums will close as well.
We enjoyed working together with our fans very much, and we are very
sorry about this development. We wish you the best of luck in the
future, and hope that you continue to enjoy online gaming, even with
Mutable Realms and Wish not being available anymore.
We also wish the best luck to our competitors, and hope that they will
not suffer the same fate as us.
Best regards,
Your Mutable Realms Team

I just got my beta account activation email friday, didn't have time to download the client yet :-/
From what I read on
http://www.gucomics.com
They analyzed the number of beta applicants they had. Divided by about 1/2-3/4 since you never have as many paying subscribers as you do beta apps, then multiplied that by the amount that the people on the games forums said they'd be willing to pay per month and realized they wouldn't be making enough to continue production, so they went out in style before it bankrupted their company.

It was THAT bad. I played the beta for maybe 30 minutes tops and deleted it.

Hmm, the more I read about it, the more people are saying that it wasn't a bad game but it just didn't have that much interest.
I don't trust your opinion Martrae, you think EQ2 is fun=P It probably just didn't have enough tradeskills for you hehe.

I never even got that far.
I liked WoW, too, btw. Just thought it was too easy.

That's funny since most people in EQ 2 are going to be max level what, 2 months ago WoW? Big deal. So EQ2 is 2 months more worth of grinding on the difficulty level.

I wasn't talking about levelling ease or difficulty, tho that was part of it.
Everything was handed to you. You didn't have to really work hard at anything. I like a little challenge.

I don't see how anything is handed to you. Any decent item in the game is a bitch to get at the recommended level. I suspect you didn't ever do ZF, ST, BRD, BRS or even Gnomeragon for that matter. Oh well, this isn't the place for debating it.

Aye, you really enjoy WoW and I'm enjoying EQ2 and Wish sucked badly.
It was point and click, the graphics looked like they were done by my daughters kindergarten class (not quite that bad but they really needed good artists badly).

Yes, Wish was that bad. The graphics were miserable. I could excuse that if the gameplay was good but that was even worse.
