According to espn.com, the player union's executive director told the players they should accept any european job offers for this season immediately and also to take any job offer for next season.

They should make a league in Canada or something.

Funny how it got leaked to the press.
This is just the union using the Canadian media to presure the league.

Because of the salary cap issues I believe.
Don't really follow hockey.
