and i have just finished metal gear solid 3: snake eater

i thought it was very well done, the graphics were excellent and the story was lots of fun. i don't think it's quite as good as mgs1 overall, but it's very close-- and if you, like me, were disappointed with mgs2, you'll find that the third installment redeems the series from its sophomore slip.

only things i did not like about it: cheesy-ass 007-wannabe theme song. boss battle where you have to wade upstream towards a ghost while other ghosts try to leech your health, it's totally retarded and takes like 15 minutes to do and unless you are really crafty you are almost guaranteed to die the first time you fight him.

it was neat to see ocelot as a 20-year-old, and they didn't short us on female secret agents wearing next to nothing.

PS if you play this game, make sure to call Sigint on your radio while you're in a cardboard box.

I loved mgs1, I agree with you that 2 wasn't near what 1 was. Maybe I'll have to scoop up 3.

I liked 1 & 2 almost equally...

That ghost battle was retarded, but you would have to be an idiot to lose at it. I mean you merely have to walk around them, easyest boss ever. Shit, if you want I think you can die at the start of the walk and then just use the revival pill right there. And if you didnt kill many people as you went through the game that makes the walk even more plesant.

Gah, anyway im yet to beat it again.. I wanna see if I can take down the shagohod w/ hand grenades on hard mode too.

ya the ghosts didn't kill me, one would have to be pretty terrible at video games to die from the ghosts

but when you get to the guy's corpse i kept walking and he one-shotted me and it didn't occur to me to use the tooth
