Half Life 2 is the biggest piece of code shit I've ever seen.

I've played Doom 3, EQ2, WOW, and countless other games without an issue.

Half Life 2 crashes. often. I've changed the settings, updated the drivers, and read the source forums. Tons of others have the same problems I do.

Fuck Valve. Your game is a piece of complete worthless shit. Steam is the most idiotic bullshit thing I've ever seen.

Go back to buying engines, you clowns. Yours sucks ass.

All you assclowns coming here to say you have no HL2 problems, it's probably because your PC is less powerful than my fucking calculator and playing it in low/low is worthless. If I wanted to play a game with nintendo settings, I'll ask your opinion.

I've tried three times to make it through, but it always crashes repeatedly. No other games crash on my PC.

I am not alone, as you can see tons of people bitching about it.

And I'd be willing to bet the theft of the code earlier caused a big deal of problems in itself. (they had to rework the code I guess...)

Lyion, I'm playing it on a 2.8P4 with 1gbRam (dual channel), and Radeon 9700 Pro. All settings maxed. Finished HL2 with no probs. Played HL2 multiplayer, and actually play in a clan nightly in CS:S. Maybe it's an NVIDIA problem? Not sure of your setup so don't know.

I wouldn't mind this if I had problems with any other games, but I don't.
Checking the forums and 'Internets' it appears a ton of other people have the same problems I do. Its definitely not just my computer.

Its also completely random. Sometimes its every 2 minutes, sometimes it lets me play for an hour.

Cs:S never crashes so it appears its just HL2.

I had stuttering issues initially, but this has gone away with subsequent patches.

One thing I'll give to iD Software: their engines are totally bulletproof and scale incredibly well with future hardware. Carmack and Co. have my respect in that department.

Try disabling your sound card and run it. If that doesn't work, the game must sense that you are an asshole and Valve has anti-asshole code in place.

HL2 never crashed on me, but I'm pissed off that I spent almost 50 bucks on the piece of crap game that it is. Maybe the MP version will be its saving grace.

As far as FPS games are concerned, Far Cry blew HL2 out of the water in every conceivable aspect.

I've even tried having a girl I know who isn't an asshole play. No go there either.

I think there's some glitch in the matrix playing havoc with my gaming fun...
