Bond's Slide show type report

somewhere on Fox Sports website there is a slide show with almost each of his years.. showing his body.... and ther isn't one year that he bulked up and was like the hulk (taking this from some guy who hates barry but saw the slide show) it was a slow process.
granted this doesn't mean he didn't use some kinda of stuff.. but i remember earlier in this whole steroids thing everyone was like LOOK HOW HE WAS WHEN HE CAME IN AND NOW... well that theory is blow outta the water (again taking this guys word for it)
if it is true.... people will have a hard time proving other guys used steroids when they look like the hulk if they gradually got bigger.
anyone see that (damnit i am not awake i keep forgettin things)

the thing is, he is getting older, and getting bigger. if he was younger, and doing this, it would be a little different. look at a pic of a-rod when he first came up and look at one now. i bet he uses roids too.

well i kno guys that have bulked up crazy amounts around 35 so it is possible..
damn right.. i am lookin at one of my baseball cards of A-rod like 4 years ago and i saw a pic of him now.. WTF

A-Rod was a great base hitter, like Derrek Jeter, and would steal 30-40+ bases a year, then when he was traded to Texas, he bulked up, struck out more, lost 30 so points on his batting average, didn't run nearly as much, BUT he hit more home runs. I considered him the best player in the league before he left for Texas.

The size of his head has changed tho, which is typical among HGH users. Now I like bonds, and I could care less what baseball players want to do to their bodies, but for the most part (unless crazy genetics) putting on 40 lbs of muscle and almost no body fat is very difficult.
He does have one of the better work eithics in baseball tho, I think that combined with a little HGH/ *the cream* made things a little easier.

yea.. honestly there is a difference between him and giambi..
bonds was a MVP before the juice. He had alot of walks and homeruns.. granted not 73.. but alot
But he has always had that bat speed, and he is a very picky hitter.
you won't see him steal bases anymore cause well.. what is he 38? kinda hard to keep stealin 40+ bases a year hehe
i honestly don't care if they use enhancments. The sport really isn't a SPORT imo minus a couple positions.
I also dont mind seein yoked up Curling Teams

If you really dont think baseball "isnt a sport minus acouple of positions" your an idiot bro.
Take it from someone that has played baseball at a proffesional level, there is just as much training, work, and skill that goes into baseball as there is any other sport. Ive played them all at high levels, and ill take the athletic ability of the majority of baseball players over any sport.
Just because you arnt hitting people, doesnt mean its not a sport. Remember this, its takes more skill to be a great hitter, than any other thing in sports.
As for Bonds taking steroids, i still dont think he injected them. Aside from "the cream" he didnt take anything.
Its not his Head that is bigger, its his neck. Take a look at pictures. He has the most rigourous off season workout of any baseball player.
Also, taking steroids will lead to the body breakig down. Look at Giambi, look at Albert Bell, look at Brian Bozzworth (name from the past!), Brady Anderson. Bonds' body is not breaking down, with the exception of old age. He played the most games out of any Giants player last year, and has not spent a long stint on the DL in his career.
He also has gotten stedily bigger over the years, he never had a HUGE jump in size. That is also a big give away about someone taking steriods.

You know what would put all, or most of the bitching to rest? If he came out this year, when it's blindingly obvious he CAN'T be using, and put up 50 HR and bat .370ish again. After all, it's pretty common knowledge that the benefits you got from steroids go away really rapidly after you stop taking them, so given how long BALCO has dragged out, and the increased scrutiny, he must have stopped taking them (assuming he took them, even unknowingly) a long time ago now.

I tried to tell these people that hitting a baseball was tougher than most other sports...no one believed me.

nah xav i am sayin.. only a few positions use their athletic ablity constantly during a game.. pitchers, catchers shortstops 2nd basemen. and Larry Bowa
if they pitch to him he could hit 70 again. But i doubt he gets more than 45.. and gets another 200 walks... batting average i don't think has anything to do with steriods. I mean look at Ted Williams.. hits for 400, but then you have a-rod all yoked and what 287 ish maybe?
Bonds has the high % because he is patient and doesn't swing for the fences on each pitch.
Thats the one thing no one can say STERIODS DID IT.. bonds is probably the smartest hitter (power hitter)of the last 20 years if not more. He is so great at seein the ball.. and sayin ok don't swing its a ball not a strike

Whenever i tell someone this they dont believe me either. Just tell them that being an excellent hitter to great hitter, the bench mark is batting .300. So 3 out of 10 times you are succesful.
If you were in basketball and only hit 30% of your shots.....you wouldnt be playing, in golf if you only hit the green/fairway 30% of the time, you shouldnt be playing golf. In football if you only complete 30% of your passes, or gain yardage 30% of the time, or make 30% of the tackles, or catch 30% of the balls thrown to you, you wont be playing football.
In tennis if you only returned 30% of the serves, or hit the ball in play 30% of the time, you wouldnt last too long.
That argument usually will get them to see the point. Only in baseball will you fail 7 out of 10 times, and be considered an excellent hitter.

There is alot of behind the scenes action that is not noticed when playing baseball. The most athletic person on your team is actually suppose to be playing Center field (traditionally, obviously not always true). Left and right field use alot of skill as well, not to mention first and 3rd basemen.
When you are 90 feet away from a ball that comes off a bat over 120 mph and you litterally have less than a second to get in front of it, keep your glove down, make a play and then throw the runner out at first ala 1st and 3rd basemen, you can make an argument for them that they have some athletic ability.
Your argument that only some positions use athletic ability constantly during a game is ludicrous man, and i dont mean the rapper.
My guess is your opinion is coming from playing Pony league baseball or even T-ball, not playing at a proffesional level or even college level.
Oh yeah, and pitchers are in generall the least athletic people on a team

Very true Taxx. American Society wants action, baseball is not a game of action its more like chess, on crack.
Back when it was the national pastime, it was even more "boring" to watch than the game is now.
To me the game is not boring at all, i like the strategy that is used every play, that most people dont understand or know that its going on.
To me NBA basketball is the biggest "snorefest" in sports, however that has gotten better this year, less of the half court, feed it to the big guy offenses succeeding.
All in all i would rather watch a 2-1 pitchers duel with great defense, than a 12-10 slugfest, with tons of homeruns. But im a baseball purist

Don't get me wrong, I played pretty much every sport available to me while growing up. They were all fun to play, but to watch...that's a different story.

xav i am talkin about actually using athletic ablitiy during the game.
I played in high school for a section champion.. of course i didn't play in college..
working out isn't what i am talkin about. I am talkin about the total action compared to no action in baseball.
and btw you just made my point... Baseball is a chess game.
btw.. there was this big fatso who hit 715 HRs who no one would say was athletic

Actually Aaron was quite an athlete, and I can't really imagine a circumstance outside of an Olson family reunion where he would be considered fat.

Hardly making your point for you. Every play, nomatter what position you are, youo need to be moving, regardless if its a ball or a strike or hit into play. You are constantly moving in baseball, if you are not, you were taught wrong.
Just because its a chess game, doesnt mean there isnt action, some is just more subtle than what the american public wants to see, and there is only so much that you can see unless you know exactly what you are looking for.
As far as the "big fatso" Ruthe was very athletic. Most people dont remember that he was a good pitcher well before he was a great hitter. Ruth might have been big...but he was not "fat". He had alot of muscle mass, that just wasnt defined (and of course the almighty belly). The bat he used was just a tree with the limbs cut off.
Saying ruth wasnt athletic would be like saying Shaq is not athletic because he is big, or an offensive lineman because they are fat. Ruth falls under that catagory, just big athletic in a relative nature to the other players.
I knew a samoan first baseman that was the slickest fielder i had ever seen, and he was what people would consider "fat", yet he was as agile a person as i had ever seen. Just because someone has a gut on them, doesnt mean they are not athletic.
