Raiders get owned, hilarious

The Oakland Raiders didn't surprise anyone by placing the franchise tag on cornerback Charles Woodson, but what happened Friday caught them completely off guard.
Woodson signed his one-year, $10.5 million franchise tender, which creates major cap problems for the Raiders. The Raiders are $15.7 million over the $85.5 million salary cap, not counting the Jerry Porter contract and the future acquisition of wide receiver Randy Moss, who has a $7.25 million salary.
Woodson's agent, Carl Poston, likely made the move because of the Raiders' cap issues and decided to not risk the chance of having the franchise tag pulled before he had a chance to sign it. Poston was in Indianapolis for the scouting combine and walked over to the Raiders hotel with a signed tender offer.
By signing it, the $10.5 million is guaranteed. He submitted copies to the league and the NFL Management Council.
Poston said the Raiders were surprised when they saw the signed contract. There was talk of having the franchise tag revoked or the possibility of having a trade.

Professional athletes get paid too much, imo. I'm not intending to start a flame war... it's just honestly how I feel.

Woodson was a mediocre CB. Why Franchise him? I'd let him hit the open market, personally.
If I ran an NFL franchise, I doubt I'd work with any player who used the Poston brothers as agents. They are complete asses.
This is funny as hell, though.

Now it looks like the Raiders is going to trade him.

Charles Woodson is one of the best cover corners in the league. He wont rack up the INTs but he will cover his man like a fly on shit.

I dont think any cornerback is worth 12 percent of your cap.

he constantly gets burned deep and over the middle.. so why pay him at all.. save the money... i get to watch him all the time.... he is good but he isn't that good. I have seen no name slow recievers burn him big time. I have seen him get out muscled by small recievers.. some games he is awesome.. for the most part he is average/good
but no reason why he should be paid more than 3 mil a year PERIOD
this also shows how shitty the CBs in the league are if he is one of the better ones. the top 4 CBs on the Pats are better than Woodson (at least they don't give up TDs) shit Troy Brown had a better year at Saftey or CB whatever he played than woodson did.
Woodson is slightly better than Ahmed Plummer (when he is healthy)

Bailey had what, two bad games last year? One of which was in lousy weather conditions. I'm not a Bronco's fan, but living in Colorado last year gave me the opportunity to see most of their games... in 14 out of the 16, Bailey essentially eliminated the opposition's top receiver. Over all, a much, much better year than Woodson had.

I just remember Chad Johnson completely eating his lunch.
A lot of Champs problems are with really good WRs and having a slow Bronco secondary.
Cover corners are overrated. Look what NE did with no name waiver wire guys.

NE's 2 rookies the year before kicked ass, and Samuel is REALLY good for being a 2nd year guy.
thats what made Dion such a good CB.. he could shut down most of the really good recievers... minus Rice (but no one has stopped him)
