So now she's in heaven floating around with angels and God and stuff? What functionality did they give her brain in heaven or is she still a vegetable?

Oh look, another atheist that trhinks he knows it all...never seen that!

Until you die, shut the fuck up. You don't know shit.

Well I don't remember anything before I was born, so I assume there isn't anything after I die. I mean, duh.

It's sad on so many different levels:

1) That someone was in her state to begin with. The trauma to not only the patient but to family and friends must have been enormous - not even taking into account the legal fights that only:
2) Matters were made so much worse by everyone's selfishness and insistence to be "involved". The parents were wrong. The "husband" didn't handle it well. The government should never have gotten involved. Jesse Jackson should have kept his nose out of it...
3) That we can't find a better way, medically, to handle situations such as this. Starving/dehydrating people to death, regardless of their mental state... there has to be something, some way we can treat people who are dieing with more respect.

This was all unfortunate to an extreme... and the only person without some culpability for the fiasco and circus is Terri Schiavo herself.

That last statement isn't entirely true. If she had written something down a lot would have be avoided.

Also, she got into that state from a potassium imbalance brought on by bulimia.

But, yes, on the whole this should have been a private family matter and not a national circus. And, yes, there should be a more humane way of dealing with situations like this.

Anyone else notice that Jesse Jackson didn't take a stand until she was past the point of no return?

It doesn't matter when Jesse Jackson "made a stand"... he had no business being involved whatsoever. He's a grandstanding, self-serving attention whore - and he treated this case just like he uses every other "opportunity" for him to get media attention for himself.

He's a disgusting human being.

I agree completely.

He couldn't stand there was a media circus somewhere without him in the center ring.

I'm not a big Jesse Jackson fan in many things either. He's done some good work in the past in promoting racial equality, but fuck him for getting into this whole mess. Useless, pointless, and downright wrong.

well he was invited by the family.. but of course he accepted to grandstand.. thats just him.

Boybutter.. alot of the media is gleeful.. in a loss for Bush on this. Not sure if its for "YAY someone died to reinforce one of my ideas" but leading up to the death.. they were holding back glee. The lawyer for Michael is REALLY creepy.

BTW there is an article.. i heard about it on a radio show last night... that describes the conflicts of interest in this case.. from the doctors that were hand picked to diagnose Terri (all members of a Euthenasia society) to lawyers and others that are all tied together by the Woodside Hospice board. Something to really look at.. Michael is good friends with the judge that first ruled for him in this case. I think its from one of the Duke University papers.

But we now have a court that has ordered the death of someone that was innocent.. and NOT on life support. Sorry not being able to feed and drink yourself isn't life support. Babies can't do it.. other mentally handicaped people can't.. should we kill them all.. blah blah.

Even if you don't like Rush.. some dominatrix called his show saying spanking causes euphoria ... just like michaels lawyer and some media said .. "She is not suffering she is euphoric"

I still want someone to tell me why can we kill a american citizen this way and can't "torture" terrorists this way when its so EUPHORIC

Well when I die I want to go peacefully in my sleep, just like my grandfather. Not screaming like the passengers in his car.
