Poll: Should Everything Else be no holds: Pr0n, Fefn, etc

Do you want absolutely zero moderation on EE. This means anything that isn't a board hack or illegal would never be touched, ever.
This is a simple Yes/No question.
This means pr0n images, Fefn posts, and anything for anyone. Right now its lightly moderated.

the ony reason I say no, is because of this morning when I opened up a thread that had no mention of NWS material at work, and got hit with a huge amount of NWS material.

I voted yes, I don't want any moderation when I'm trying to get into fefn's pants.

I voted no. There has to be SOME moderation with everything (even "Free for all" forums). You're getting IM's and PM's from people who think it was to extreme.... that should be the first indicator that to much can be to much.

EE was originally designed FOR THIS PURPOSE.
It's only recently that people have made it the standard meeting place... CA used to be the primary 'chat' forum. EE was created as the 'catch-all' for everything, and NWS posts were supposed to be allowed there.
I voted yes because that was the original design.
I'll bow to popular consent, however.

But if you KNOW it's not moderated, then that's your problem.
EE was "slightly moderated" all of this time, after Anything Goes came.
If it's moderated or not isn't really an issue for me. There should be a least one forum that is for those sorts of threads, and I don't care which one it is.

Thing is anything chatty that's put in CA is moved to EE.

That's all well and good - but isn't the cat crew forum the "same" thing? Why do we need TWO "free for all" forums?
CA is more for serious debate and discussion, while EE is more for fucking around and making jokes about eachother and everything else...
Apply some LIGHT moderation to the EE forum, but let the cat crew forum go completely un-moderated.

because people can't fucking get along-even innocent threads start to get crapped on almost immediately just because a regular "CA-er" doesn't like the person who posted the "chatty" post.
They turn into threads that have to be moved.

I've seen several that were deemed 'not current affairs' meaning news topic and moved.
Granted this hasn't happened for a while because everyone has pretty much gotten used to CA being news, EE being chatty and goofing around, and CC being the weird shit.

I just don't want Mindia to post any more child pornography.

CA = debate and news - highly moderated.
EE = goofing around and calling eachother names / chatting - lightly moderated.
CC = anything goes. - no moderation.
I think that's pretty reasonable.

The 'cat crew' forum isn't a catch-all forum like EE. The cat-crew got their own little thing because... well, just because. That's their own deal. NT has all of the 'designated' forums, and then one 'catch-all'. If EE is moderated, that invalidates the purpose of all the other forums. Want to talk sports, talk in sports OR EE. EE was 'supposed' to be the bleed-over for EVERYTHING ELSE. EVERYTHING that didn't fit with the rest of the board. It was *also* supposed to remain unmoderated, so people can say what they want.
Removing the 'edited by' tag might be the biggest mistake in my tenure here. Now ya'll can't even know IF we ARE moderating.
What's the point of a 'catch-all, free-speech' forum if it's no different than what NT already is? EE would become nothing more than 'another' place to discuss what can already be discussed in the 'appropriate' forum. That's stupid. I would rather do away with EE than provide redundancy of that sort.
If ya'll don't want a 'catch-all, free-speech' forum, than use the forums that are already in place. EE should just be killed. It's pointless otherwise.

I voted yes. Not to deleteing posts or anything, just for the mods to add a NSW tag or editing RL info or deleting posts made by the author, as stated in the rules.

I disagree, Vonk.
The cat crew forum WAS the catch all Forum before it was given to them. EE was never that way, and was supposed to be unmoderated free chat without the 'silly' stuff. It's been like that for a long time
EE is fine the way it is, lightly moderated. I'd say most agree based on this poll.
If we want a completely no holds bar forum we should either revert the CC forum to its original intent, or recreate the AFA forum that allows for the pr0n and Fefn posts, and is completely unmoderated.

Is there something wrong with the moderation in the CC forum? Because I like the moderators and the forum, does it have to change?

Saying what you want is fine and dandy. Posting hardcore pr0n and shit is another.

Vonk there's a difference between posting "so and so is a moron" and posting a pic of something distusgting. While you could argue that both are an example of free speech... we do need a measure by which to moderate some of the content.
Nothing illegal. No crazy HTML that fucks with my forums. I'm not going to ban people for using racial slurs in AFA, but be reasonable... I don't want to see KKK flash pages or anything stupid. That's about it. Oh yeah, don't post personal info without permission. If I see my home address on this site, I'll send the dogs to nibble on your privates.
Those are YOUR rules man. That section has always been slightly moderated... no racial shit... so we can't post KKK flashes, but we can post images of someone taking a shit?

As long as the threads are properly marked, I don't see a problem with leaving them be. If you see a thread that says OMG NWS THIS IS DISGUSTING, here's an idea - don't click on it.
The only moderation I personally feel should be in EE is the marking of said posts if they aren't properly marked.

man, wtf, I spent like 45 mins making that fucking post last night and nobody even got to see it
I don't understand what the debate is about here. Why are people looking at the anything goes forum at work?
I agree with Vonkaar 100%
EDIT: had to make that fucking huge
