its a bit much on the screen... EQ was perfect before PoP and beyond.. WoW is a bunch of junk on the screen.. its scary. Guild wars.. is similar to EQ except with a few less things on the screen.

Vanguard (iirc) is the game put out by the old school Verant team after they got choked at Sony whoring EQ and left

yea just went to the site and read that.. Guessin that would mean it will be a good game till they squeezed out again for another GoD expansion lol. Guess thats why the bubbles are there hehe

sucks tho.. i wish it wasn't pay to play. Granted i MIGHT be able to afford it cause of my raise hehe. But GW will keep my attention for the most part.

I have no idea if I'll play Vanguard. I already have too many games I'm dabbling in, and there are plenty of kick ass single player ones coming out.

An MMO needs to offer something really fuckin sweet to get me to buy it now.

That interface does make me wonder what Brad is up to, and I'll follow Vanguard just because I think there's a lot of talent on that team.

I bet its like EQ the way it should have been, in brad's mind that is.

Probably not. I'm not in a guild, and I wasn't a huge Diablo fan. GW is somewhere in between EQ and Diablo, a tad over from where WOW is.

don't really needa guild but much more fun with the conversation. I think eventually they will go the way of WoW with loot tables and items. at least for PvE cause i kno if all you can get is 17-22 dmg swords and no real special graphics.. people will get bored.. PvP will save the game imo if they don't add items like WoW or EQ has them.

To be completely honest, I'm not sold on the Fantasy PVP paradigm. Its all about levels and gear, and always has little to do with skill.

I prefer Doom 3, BF 1942, or Planetside for PVP

well GW isn't gear .. cause there isn't much gear that makes you uber (as in you have with EQ... Warrior Epic 2.0 and the Bloodletter or whatever its called against some guy with Velious weapons). as lvl 2 i can take out lvl 6s with better gear. And thats why they made certain classes the bane of another. Mesmers can own warriors REALLY quickly.. warriors with monks, nercos everyone, rangers with casters etc.

PvP in GWs actually takes skill in the 8vs8 in tombs. the 4vs4 not as much since a warrior/monk can stay alive for so long.

i have seen a lvl 16 player stay alive against 3 lvl 20 warriors.. for like 5 mins (which is an eternity with guys that have max eveyrhting)

yea but Shooters = much better PvP.

I love the PvE of GWs which is what i will play.. and Tombs when i am bored (just to get the nice little status item that says you have won 25 times in tombs hehe)

yea i would trust brad and the others to make a good game. Thats probably one of many UI's they are looking at. Other than the UI the screenshots are pretty cool.

GWs is more a action rpg. Like CS except RPG.at elast for PvP.

PvE is more action sorta cross between a shooter and a RPG.

Its already sold more than WoW.. which means nothing to me. But we shall see. There isn't a monthly fee and no UBER items (which alot of people love and can't live without).. atm no raids of more than 8 people which is a group imo.

Since i can't afford the monthlies this is perfect for me.

Its sorta for the casual gamer. Only a few of the missions are short enough to log on for an hour and beat it. The rest are around 45mins to an hour if you do eveyrthing in them. Its different MMORPG than EQ or WoW is. too bad there isn't another World Preview you could have checked it out.

With the upcoming release of the super villians it will become more interesting

I like City of Heroes.

But it isn't for everyone.

I still enjoy CoH as well.

I liked COH too, but the grind got tiresome in the 40s.

CoH has no items.

CoH is fun until you're done making your character.

It goes downhill from there.
