What do you think about kyaking?

I am thinking about buying a kyak because I have a dock at my new house and I think that it would be a relaxing exercise for mornings before work.

How is it in terms of a workout?

There isn't much of a current to work against, but I will be kyaking upstream for probably half an hour and then heading back downstream to my house at a relaxing rate.

What do you think it would replace in terms of a workout? I am trying to find as much of a relaxing workout as possible and I think this would be ideal for a meditative state.

onbe of the best work outs it ranks up there with boxing because of the upper body balance and str required to do it for long periods of time

It is an excellent workout - what type are you planning on buying?

Single seater, hard kyak, no need for a white water setup at this point as the river I'm on is languid most all of the time.

We have a thing in baltimore where you can join a kyake club and have access to the kyakes anytime and use them to ride around the harbor, tis the best thing ever
