Hey guys,
My RL friend just got CoH and picked Victory server. His name is "Flashlight" and hes a Science Blaster.
I'm going to Victory server too and will be a defender (healer).
All come to Victory server. Post names in this forum once your charector is made.
This is if you dont already have a server picked btw

Who cares? Less d00ds per square foot, hopefully. Then when I surf the server boards, there'll be less teenage white suburban kids with hip hop signatures, wannabe Urban languages, and idiotic posts.
Anyways, that server seems decent, and we can always move, man.
Hey Coates. Dropped you a line, man. Good to hear from ya.

I don't think there will be as much of a problem with the l33t d00dz in this game. The lack of uber loot etc plus the fact that they really went all out to make this a geek's wet dream doesn't attract many of them.
A roleplay server just means you are surrounded with lonely comic book geeks who want to roleplay with you.

I'm not to fond of the roleplay idea to be honest.
I'm only picking up this game tommorow because i would love to play with the nameless folks again.
If i didn't read about this game here...i wouldn't be touching it.
You guys want to choose a server other than the roleplay? I may want to strangle people thinking there superman in real life...roleplay servers tend to attract these guys.
Anyone else from the Nameless playing? Sure would be fun to get a mass nameless guild.
Is there even guilds in this game?

My "main" is on Justice along with 3 other people I know from EQ.
A good deal of people from Nameless Love are playing but for the most part are on victory since there are 3 or 4 gay guilds on that server.
Roleplayers scare me.
My toon is "The People's Poet" lvl 10 or 11 Rad/Psy Defender.

My husband and I are thinking of getting this game. We saw that it went live last night. He said if I wanna play CoH I have to give up EQ though

Nah don't give up EQ. CoH is a nice game where you can log on an hour and play, or be on all day and have a good time. I've been popping on and off the last few days for an hour or so at a time when I have time and its good. It won't replace a long term EQ addiction though.

That is a very disturbing thought. Dammit, I was being optimistic.
So, has anyone made Bluntman and Chronic yet? I think that'd be cool for roleplaying.

Man you're dreaming, they seem to infest every new game that comes out. It's totally unavoidable.

Except thei way of dealing with rip off or trademark charaters is to place a warning on your account, block your account, and until you go through the name change process offline via e-mail you are unable to play. They are supposedly going to be very tough in live about name, liscense, and trademark violations since Marvel and DC threatened to sue. Marvel is making their own online mmorpg with SOE.

Good thing Bluntman and Chronic aren't owned by DC or Marvel.
Still, in an MMORPG, its not like they are infringing on copyright. if a person names a character after one of the 40,000 copyrighted characters.
I'm sure a lot of that is posturing. Since COH is publishing a comic, they could essentially copyright thousands of Hero names and sue the Marvel MMORPG if they re use any, in that case.
Justice seems good. Whereever is cool. I still need my pre order to arrive. The bastards haven't gotten it in yet!

Is emog for or against PVP? Right now there is no pvp. The first expansion is "City of Villians" which will be the PVP expansion.
As for Bluntman and Chronic, they aren't Marvel or DC, but they will be removed if one looney roleplayer reports you.
They have a COC (code of conduct) policy and a COCC (code of copy-cat) policy. According to the policy if you want to play a hero witht eh same powers as your favorite, great! But thats where the simularity ends. Costume, name, spoofs, etc are to be smacked down.
I feel sorry for the 3 variatons of the Tick I saw yesterday.

if it ever gets big that will just become too much of a headache to track down everyone who names their character "Cyyclops"or "Sylvur_Surfer09" to ever ban them all

Plus I send them a tell welcoming them to my daily "name violation report" for being lame.
But I am an asshole.
