At the moment I am using BitLord with a torrent for the .iso of ... guess what.... ohh come on guess....

9.3!! only problem is.... it's slower than a snail - BUT - it's better than buying the box I guess. At first I wasn't overly excited about 9.3 - but the more I have read about it, the more excited I got...

9.3 comes with iPod support - the only negative issue (at least from the community) is that 9.3 doesn't come with mp3 support (out of the box). Which, isn't really much of an issue... you can simply use YOU and choose the first update and you'll have MP3 support once again.

Only 60 friggen hours to go :-x

wtf... I thought torrents where supposed to be faster than this :-x

Ohh yes - for those of you who want 9.3

http://w1.isohunt.com/torrents.php?ihq= ... &op=and&nr

It's roughly 3.3 gigs and will have be put on 5 disks.... I haven't found a DVD .iso yet - not sure if there even is on available for download at this time. Anyway - it'll take some time to DL...

I'm only at 0.5% now :-x how the fuck am I supposed to wait 59 hours and 59 minutes?

My experience with torrent (admittedly limited) is it increases and decreases in speed with the number of people connected.

If it's a file that's not overly popular it will be slower...

DVD ISO

32bit Version
ftp://mirrors.usc.edu/pub/linux/distrib ... D-i386.iso

64bit Version
ftp://mirrors.usc.edu/pub/linux/distrib ... -amd64.iso

Servers are VERY busy but the are there.

Was able to maintain a 420KB/s download rate, then again I at an ISP, my download speed is only limited by the server I conenct to. The USC servers are extremely fast though.

Updated the links.

This friggen sucks.... I get home and the CD versions (BitLord) were only 23% finished - and after 24 hours. I find that the DVD version has finished downloading and then proceed to go through 5 blank disks, only to find that none of them work.

/sigh - that's my friggen luck. Guess I'll just have to recompile this kernel for my iPod and keep 9.2 till a release of the DVD version hits a magazine (sometime in the next 2 years likely).

9.2 isn't bad anyway...
