Why would they bomb the UK consolate in the US? Why not just bomb the UK?

Symbolic perhaps? Bombing US's strongest ally's consolate in the same city as the most notably recent terrorist attack to show that we are as "vunerable" as we were pre 9/11 dispite the rash of laws to protect us?

If you're a terrorist, and plan on bombing something, i do not think you would use such an ineffective weapon. Not just that, but you would time it no doubt if you were actually trying to injure / kill someone / instill terror.
10 bucks on this being some jackass and his friends with too much time on their hands.
