How would you feel, losing your 300,000 salary for the year, 5 mil of your 6 mil signing bonus, and possibly leave you looking for a team for a few years while you recover, all because you are a dumbass who can't ride a cycle.

Well there is a reason they put clauses in contracts like that. These teams understand that the people they are signing on these huge money contracts will act like idiots from time to time and if that gets them hurt the team needs a way out.
Maybe he should have read the contract (or had his lawyer read it to him being a contract and worded as confusing as absalutly possible).

You know what's going to happen, somehow, someway he will find a way to get compensated for some of that money, that's what good agents are for.
Could you see him at some work comp. place asking for 1/4 of the wages he should have earned this year.... it is America, if there is a hairline crack in the system there's always hundreds of people who abuse it.
