The other day my girlfriend spilled a glass of coke onto my laptop, so i think its fried, everytime i turn it on it just says primary hard drive not found. Therefore, im going back to one of my older computers to use temporarily until i figure out what im gonna do with it.

The thing is, I want to completely start over with this computer, just start from scratch. What do i do to do this? I have the windows xp CD that came with the computer, and the cd with drivers and all that on it too. What do i do hehe im not a computer genius like most of u are. Thanks!!!

i had to restrain myself not to smack the everliving piss out of her. But as her punishment i made her swear to give me a blowjob whenever i want for the next 3 months, so yes i think i did. In 48 hours I have made her live up to her promise like 12 times so far hehehe thats what she gets for messin it up!

ok, im an idiot when it comes to this. Exactly how do i do this. Turns out the CDs i have for drivers are my brothers, and i can use his cd for the operating system i reckon (its one that says operating system reinstallation disk). How do i get the drivers and stuff and what do i do to start the reformat and what do i do after? Thanks in advance, i am an idiot when it comes to actually workin gon these things

First question is, is your brothers PC from a main line company like Dell? If yes, is yours also. The reason I ask is because many companies like Dell and Gateway may give you a windows install disk, but they will only work on one of their computers.

If the OS is recent, you should be able to just put the CD in the CD Drive and turn on the computer. It should boot up from the CD and get your installation going.

Once the installation is finished and you have a working version of windows on the computer, you need to put the drivers disk into the cd drive. More then likely it will autorun and there will probably be a link to something like Install Drivers.

Hopefully, if your using say XP, you wont need much in the way of drivers but its hard to tell without actually knowing anything about your system.
