I read that article off MSNBC yesterday and it didn't come across to me as "strikeing".

My aunt is a doctor and is Christian because she was raised as such. Another doctor in her practice is agnostic because, like me, he turned from the church when they started differing from his viewpoint.

It's all in how you are raised, not what profession you are in. They are just regular people like you or me.

To me, it shows a lot of atheist/agnostic knuckleheads that VERY intelligent people believe in God, and so it should make something stir in their heads, like "hmm, if scientists, doctors, and astrophysicists believe in God... why don't I?" I like articles that make people THINK.

Because we all know experts on health and medicine know a lot about metaphysics.

I believe in what I believe in, because it is what sounds best to me. I'm sure you are the same way, Mindia. I dont believe in something because a doctor does, or because my parents do, or because the president does.

I already knew that there's quite a few intelligent people who are atheists. I'm not debating that point. The point that you are missing is that all too many atheists think they are "one up" on Christians and think they are superior for some bizarre twisted reason. When I see articles like this it give me that warm, fuzzy feeling.

What I persieved from your post was that since these prominent people believed that should make everyone that doesn't, believe.

I, as an atheist, do not feel that I am one up on someone who finds personal gratification from believing and finding salvation in their faith. I do find it appalling that some of those people find it necessary to push their beliefs on someone who belives differently.

Uh, you and your ilk by trying to get laws passed that are based on Christian teachings and morals, when those of us who are NOT Christian may completely disagree with them. We have no issue with you living your life in your way, we simply do not want you and the radical religious right trying to force US to live your way, even though we believe differently than you, which is what happens if such laws are passed.
