I remember a while back there was a discussion over building vs buying and which was cheaper etc.

I dont' want to build anymore, I don't have the time to tinker with my workings. I just want to sit down and game. Can anyone recommend a good company that I can configure a PC the way I want with, and they'll put it together with a warranty for me?

How much you looking to spend, and how good a system are we talking?

I don't know how far you want to go on specifying what you want, but Dell is pretty decent about giving you a set of options to "build" your own machine. You can't really get specific on exact parts, but general specs they do decent. I would watch their websight for a while, thier deals vary week to week. Thier pricing is pretty decent, and thier warranty system with onsite repair is really nice.

If price isn't really a concern and a bad ass system is, alienware is one of the more popular ones known for high end gaming systems although they are spendy, and I haven't had first hand dealings with them.

Buying everything from NewEgg was easy enough for me. Just don't skimp on components. I was of the whole buy instead of build until I started actually crunching the numbers and figuring out exactly what I wanted.

If you want low to middle of the line, I dont think there is a beter company then dell for desktop machines. If your looking high end serious gaming, build your own or buy alienware. Alienware really does build a kick ass machine the really is on a level of its own compared to all other prebuilt systems, they are worth the high price, but the price will be high.

They've gotten better at pricing more mid-level systems for the budget buyer...

I want a gaming machine. I'll spend up to $2k, but that needs to include a 17" or greater LCD, preferably low ms. Cybersystems is looking good, with an athlon 64 3500, gig of corsair ram, sata hds, 8ms 17 lcd, 6800 GT, for under $2k.

I would build with zipzoomfly.com or newegg. I'm just tired of having to dick around with stuff. I don't have time anymore to fix and fuss, with an hour and a half drive to work. When I'm at the computer, I want to play and that's it.

My exact system, except I'd recommend going with the Dell 20" flatscreen with the Cyberpower machine. I've had it for 10 months without a hiccup.

AMD just release a new chip design for gamers and Nvidia just release the 7800.
