What is a good program to crop .mp3's for content?

So I have my own website setup to download my own ringtones as long as I have the mp3. But I need to shorten them, obviously, to make for an effective ring tone.
Does anyone know a good program that I could just cut portions of the song out?

Acid pro, Cakewalk
You might be able to find a demo of Acid that would do the trick, not sure though.

unless you're working with multiple tracks, Sound Forge is what you are looking for.

You can cut an mp3 with cakewalk or acid too, though those are primarily for recording and sequencing. They would both probably work fine for what you need, but may have more of a learning curve.

If I had a phone I wouldn't mind some of Mozart's Requiem it. :P
Or some of One Winged Angel from FF7

I download a lot of long trance/house mixes in MP3 format....
What is a good program to split those into separate tracks and then burn to CD without the 2 second pauses?
oh when I burn to CD I want to leave them in MP3 format because my car plays them.
