Lots of Popups

I ran Spybot and Adaware, but that's not getting rid of them...one is called "surfsidekick3" and I found a folder for it in my program files, but it won't let me delete it because it's "being used by another person or program" and the other popups are "Aurora" something or other. Any suggestions?

Try Hijack This or Killbox.

I have Aurora also. They are annoying as hell! I can't get rid of them and I have Spykiller, Spysweeper, Spybot S&D, Microsoft AntiSpyware, and AVG. None of them seem to get it off. :dunno:

Run Hijack this (if you know which files to delete) and remove the spyware files whilst in safe mode.

There are forums out there that can help you with this if you don't know what to delete, pretty easy to find if you google it I think.

Get Hijack This, run it, get the data it prints out to a file, and post a message there. When I had a really nasty spyware problem, they were able to help.

search the registry and delete any entries with the name "surfsidekick3".

Also watch what you install in the future...

If you execute a program such as maybe a free screensaver program or stupid internet games often times they are bundled with a shitload of spyware/adware.

Basically by telling your computer to install the program you are allowing not only the program to be installed but also all the additional garbage bundled with it.
