[url=http://www.nea.org/annualmeeting/raaction/nbi.html]The National Education Association just had its convention where it called for W to withdraw our troops from Iraq, vowed to defeat the Central American Free Trade Agreement, and resolved to educate about the need for debt cancellation in underdeveloped countries.

Silly me for thinking this should be about education, versus partisan politics.

I think they have bigger problems to worry about.

Well, you know you have a problem when the education system talks about the big 3 important R's to teach kids about, and only one of the R's actually begins with R =\

Well it isn't like they don't have some "interest".

Even though they are "National" they appear to have International affairs going on, one being a program to help educate the children of Iraq.

It seems you are taking something a bit out of context and contorting it just a bit.

It isn't like we'll win, it isn't like violence has decreased, I know we have more international friends now then before the war, etc etc.

I'm no military guy, I get most of my info from NPR, CNN, etc. When I hear folks better educated then any of us here regarding this war, they paint a bleak picture of what the near (10-15 years) future will hold for us and for them.

BTW the only mention of the war in Iraq is NBI 61 and 62. No mention here regarding the Wal-Mart or Sam Club ban? Equally important, no?

Edit:
My point was why wouldn't an orginization capitalize on the failures of the bush adminsitration or go along the same road as the general population. Makes sense to me.

For another funny, compare NBI 2 and NBI 78.

This NEA sounds just like any other government and that makes the first post of this thread seem right on track :)

Uh...maybe because they are supposed to be unbiased teachers of our children?

Yah like why 40+ percent of educational tax dollars never make it to school, why teachers are morons and why American students are utterly useless after being in school for 12+ years.

I hate educators in America. I should be in charge of that shit. Kids would learn well and fast under my tutelage... If they didn't they would get beat. Come to think of it I would beat the parents too just for good measure.
