Ladies, is this true?

The best way to woo women is...... from Reuters:

LONDON (Reuters) - Forget expensive presents or costly jewelry. Wining and dining is the best way for men to woo women, scientists said Tuesday.

Researchers at Imperial College London developed a mathematical formula and modeled courtship as a sequential game to find the best way to impress the ladies.

Their results show that offering an expensive present signals the man's serious intentions but he must be wary of being exploited by gold-diggers who will dump him after receiving the gift.

"Guys are less likely to offer expensive gifts to females they don't have a long-term interest in. And girls won't be impressed with cheap gifts. By offering expensive but worthless gifts, such as dinner and theater trips, the male pays no cost if the invitation isn't accepted," said Dr Peter Sozou, of University College London (UCL).

If women are not interested they are unlikely to accept the invitation, according to the research published in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society of London B.

The researchers said giving gifts was a feature of courtship in humans and other species to impress females. Physical attraction is an important element but offering gifts also helps.

"Our analysis shows there is evolutionary logic in men 'burning money' to impress the girl," said Professor Robert Seymour of UCL's department of mathematics.

Bringing her flowers is the chivalrous route, and it gets them to smile ear to ear.

Dinner and the theatre is pretty dead on and I'm not talking McDonald's and the Drive-in here.

Actually there is something cool about the drive-in movie theaters that never seems to fail so long as you don't initiate anything as the inviter.

I'm not big on gifts unless they're thoughtful, so yes, dinner etc is the way to go with me too

When it comes to dinner, you almost have to be thoughtful and put some time into it, it isn't something you just fork over a chunk of cash for and call it a done deal

Gifts can be so impersonal, especially if it's just something expensive that the jeweler picked out and said hey get this she'll love it

A girl decides if she likes you in the first 10 seconds you meet. Dinner isn't going to change that.

I like to take a chick to a late dinner then hit a good bar or club.

I like to keep em offguard by bringing them to a place with tons of other hot chicks around...

That way if they get out of line you hand em a 20 and tell them where the taxi's are and proceed to find yourself a new toy.

The key to a healthy long lasting relationship is to dominate your women... Make her cry once and awhile and don't apologize. Women loved to be ruled, they just don't know it.

Do yourselves a huge favor... If you feel the need to wine and dine, go order a hooker off the internet instead.

I always found the best way to hook a woman was to invite her for dinner and a movie, except to have the meal home cooked at my house

not only do i get to show off that I can actually cook, but I learn a lot about the woman

does she offer to help clean up? (i hate the princess type that expects to be waited on)
Does she know how to cook? etc etc

That is actually really true.

Anyway, it's pretty much the concept of it being all the little things that count.

The OP brings to mind a certain poster on this board who would embark on ire filled tirades about women and their fixation with financial stability.

Just so you know....not all girls that don't offer are 'princesses'. Some may be merely shy.

I think when a guy takes the time to LISTEN to you and show it, that makes a great difference. I mean, it's sweet when he asks you how YOU feel and if you say you have a headache, he offers to get you some aspirin, or if your feet are sore, he offers a foot rub, or something similar.

It makes you feel good when it seems like you care.

How often do women offer to rub a man's feet?

I get disgusted by women's sense of entitlement.

Well, while that's undoubtedly true, you can usually tell the difference between shyness, and just not considering to help

So long as they aren't shy when naked.

If you and I were dating, and you said your feet hurt, I would offer a foot rub, or to get you a warm basin of water with Epsom Salts. You got to give as much as you get in a relationship, or it just won't work.

See - that's the difference between men and women... a man wouldn't be complaining about his feet hurting to begin with.
