Kinda curiuous about his. Can any of you Cannucks elaborate? I have heard the Denmark side of the coin. Would like to hear yours.

My opinion? It's a useless piece of rock that neither side wants to back down from even though no one wants it or uses it.

well I talked to a friend of mine in Denmark. a few of my buds have recieved military orders to update addresses due to a possible draft. I think they are taking this more seriously than you guys are.
Frankly I think it is a worthless piece of rock myself and so does he. however higher ups dont have the brains to think this thru clearly. if this fucking rock had a diamond mine or 85 billion barrles of crude on it I can see you guys squabbling over it.

I'd be inclined to just give it away. If they want to be petty over a stupid symbol of Nationalism, let them. But as logical as that might be, you wouldn't want to seem weak towards the Danish~

It would take an American to see that as caving, when in fact it's taking the high ground. No doubt if this was a Danish/American issue, you would rather see them in ruin than lose a meaningless piece of arbitrary property.

From what I read, the island is an absolute piece of crap for now. But with global warming they say the island may become more valuable as area surrounding becomes more navigatable. I forget exactly why it would it would be valuable then, but the newspaper told me so.

Canada has been fighting for years to keep other countries out of the depleted cod stocks outside of newfoundland

Hans Island being some thousands of miles away from the Grand Banks.... being some 33 degrees north and 14 degrees west from St. John. Not sure what that is in miles, but it ain't cod fishin' grounds, b'y.
