A couple guys tried this today at work. I didn't hear back so I'll follow-up with them.
Is this anything like skype(sp) or I guess more a "verbal" IM.
Skype is supprisingly good in the tests we've done. Not a real "corporate" type application but I've got a few plants that use it. Guys use it from the plane as well.

It is both text & voice, depending on how much you want to use it for whatever.
Personally, I don't have a mic and my headphones usually sit on my desk unused, so it would be all text.

I'm currently using miranda. I'd use the google client but then I couldn't talk with friends at work and miranda is pretty clean as well.

Cyber phone yes, what they need is a porn phone. Now that would bring in some cash. Have it work with online games via verbal chat so you can have commands that the device reacts to so verbal commands can make it do various degrees of vibration, heat, penetration, etc.
Have plug-ins for google chat, IM, EQ, etc etc. Even good ole regular phone lines could use it, great for the phone sex market.
I shit you not someone could get rich of that.
I know there are a few entrepreneurs that hang about here
I spoke with the guys that tried it here and they didn't care for it much. I guess after digging into it a bit I does appear to target applications like skype. It isn't there yet but I guess the google client code has it there so it is only a matter of time. Soon google will be put in that special place, right next to microsoft.

Mindia, hearing your own voice echoing is extremely easy and obvious to fix, it has nothing to do with the program you use. I trust you can figure this one out on your own...
