Unless you spend a lot of time in his car or unless he loves to play it around his house, there is no reason that there should be country music playing. Maybe you can even get him to like your music, or maybe country music will start to grow on you and you develope more of a tolerance for it.

I mean if it's his whole life, there might be an issue. For instance, I love 311. I don't, however, have a shrine in my house dedicated to them, listen to them 24/7, wear nothing but 311 clothing, put 311 before my friends/family, etc.

Oh he likes my music too, but country is his favorite. I'm listening to it now at work, trying to find something about it that I like. Right now Alabama?? is playing, and its a remake of an R&B song.

Alabama is old school country. You need to listen to more current artists. A lot of them are nearly indistinguishable from popular music.
