Neverwinter Nights

I know it's an old game, but what difficulty level did you set when you played NWN? I played it this weekend on the default setting, and it seemed pretty easy. I'll try with a harder setting this week and see how it plays.
I'm playing a cleric by the way. Seems pretty overpowered to be able to heal, melee, nuke, spawn a strong warrior pet, AND have a henchman. Not sure if all the classes are as easy.
Fun game though.

its just as easy on hard. Its more of a game where you download the mods.
When i did play it, i downloaded the EQ type mods. Some guy made a PLane of Fear and Hate. were actually challenging. Had all the named and about as many mobs.
But it sucks if you don't play mods. Only good first time thru

Hmm could you link that for me Malluas. I played through the singleplayer (yes i was one of 5 people who did) I'd be interested in trying the EQ mods.

i don't have a link. It was literally like first couple months it came out, so what 2 years ago or so. But there should be a link on NWNs main page to mods and links from there.
sorry

too bad my other comp exploded. I made a EQ type mod. As in uber weapons armor etc.. with uber mobs and hard areas. Prob was with 56k i couldn't download enough of the tile sets so couldn't get some of the cooler ones. Actually had something similar to molds in mine. but again molds are just like ToV armor so hehe. There are also EQ creature downloads (somewhere).. drakes, treants etc. not great but stuff for the EQ expience
but alas its gone cause my other comps HD took a shit

Same. Are the expansions worth getting?

I liked the hordes of the underdark expansion which extended your characters level. You can import or pre-roll a character if you don't have a maxed out one from the previous game.
Undrentide kinda blew since it was a level 1-20 content so you basically had to start a character over so I didn't get very far.

Undrentide owned. Blackguards were pretty cool. Ending sucked though.

I just went back to NWN about 2 weeks ago. I never got around to playing SOU or HOTU even though I owned them because the original was so long and shitty I never finished it.
The original game was not fun at all. it was a fucking chest opening sim with a pathetic story to occupy you while you weren't opening the 100000000 chests in every zone.
Undertide was a good story and a pretty fun expansion. I did start a new toon for it and played it recently.
Hordes is fun as well. Decent story, a few options to change the plot, you get to see Aribeth in hell and torment her for being so fucking shitty in the original, etc. All in all I think the only bad part of Hordes was the Mimic caves.
There are some great mods out now. Really professionally done. The "A Harper's Tale" series is fan made but better than any of the bioware made ones. I am enjoying the monsterous Temple of Elemental Evil Mod but it is insanely large and complex so still can be buggy.
I was playing around with the builder and learning the scripts to make Mods. Was going to make a NYC sewer module. So far I only got through the Holland tunnel, the pimp with one ear though and laying out some of the sewer. I suck at programming and scripting is damn depending on what you want to do (like give a player Dripping Doom disease during a cutscene after he pays the pimp and have the player wander over to the diseased whore).
There are also persistant worlds out that are kept up 20+ hours/day by players and game sites. Most of them have enforced roleplay though.
